Vince Young met his new offensive coordinator, Mike Heimerdinger, for the first time Friday. He'll spend this week studying changes in the offense. Young, who is enrolled at the University of Texas, hadn't been at the Titans facility since he left at the end of the 2007 season. Since then, the team fired Norm Chow and replaced him with Heimerdinger. While Heimerdinger and Young had talked by phone in recent weeks, they met face-to-face for the first time Friday. Young plans to work out at Baptist Sports Park this week, watch film and also discuss some of the things Heimerdinger has in mind for 2008.

I would like for WR Limas Sweed to be reunited with VY. People won't doubt Vince anymore.

Vince will have a steady target to throw too. The Titans dropped all kinds of passes last season. A little more consistency would go a long way for VY. Since Sweed is 6-4 and fast, that just makes it a lot easier for Vince. Plus, he now has Alge Crumpler.

The playbook will be abandoned for a small chalkboard and a piec of chalk. The plays will go something like this..."OK, you run over to the fire hydrant and do a button hook. You run towards the blond cheerleader with the pigtails, and I'll just run a quarterback draw..."

March 10, 2008  11:24 AM ET

Vince, take classes after you retire. I am sorry folks, but this guy needs some serious work before he becomes a big-time QB. He can start with throwing accuracy...and please save all the "but he didn't have receivers..." talk.

March 10, 2008  11:39 AM ET

did you watch the games. 4 of those Int's were balls that went through the WR's hands...........hhhhmmmmmmmmm. Go take more pics of your dogs.

March 10, 2008  12:27 PM ET

America's Legend - that was funny!

Yeah, VY is just fine. Receivers made some hideous drops last year. VY does need to run a little more, but I truly believe the quad was a year-long issue preventing him from running as usual. BTW - his accuracy is just fine. He threw for over 300 yards against Denver - two of the best DBs in the NFL, Bly and Bailey. So... please save all the "VY is an underachiever crap."

This is a make or break year for Young, He needs to show substantial progress as a passer. Unfortunately with a new offensive coordinator he probably will regress or struggle at the beginning of the year. The last half of next season will be interesting to watch to see what kind of QB he is going to be.

March 10, 2008  01:05 PM ET

It looks like the Titans are again going to the Colts to try to get better. They signed Jake Scott of the Colts. They need a receiver not a offensive lineman. But I'm sure they think that it works well for them. They get a good lineman and their division rival loses one.

March 10, 2008  01:10 PM ET

Wow, when you cite 1 game's results as proof of accuracey or 4 passes that weren't his fault, that is thin. Boys, I am not a hater. I love this guy and am a longhorn. But I say what I see. If you think he a top flight QB right now, you need to take more pictures of your dog! Does he have the potential to be? Yes, but with new OC, he needs to be working on that and not taking classes!

March 10, 2008  02:27 PM ET

People said he was the next Vick when he was drafted, I doubt he dog fights but the endings should be pretty much the same, a disappointed franchise. And don't cry about me comparing him to Vicks dog fighting, you know what I mean.

A quarterback will never do well without good receivers & a good running back ,,, Young is fine and in his third year he will be a star in the NFL ! Nooot having a good receiver does hurt a QB and has hurt Young anyone whose played the game knows that. I was a DB in college and it's easy to defend a QB & make him look bad without good receivers. The Titans need to develop, draft or trade for 2 quality receivers. Would you have heard of Aikmen without Alvin Harper, Michael Irvin & Emmit Smith ,,, or Montana without Rice, Taylor & Roger Craig. The Titans have a solid running game & offensive line, great QB, one of the more envied definsive lines (they should add devensive tackle depth to help Haynesworth ,,, Kevin Carter would be a great pickup !) if Packman plays one of the better secondaries without him still good, LB are solid ,,, get some improvement at receiver and watchout ! A trade that would make sense is Pacman for a good receiver. I hope the Titans keep Pacman though ,,, think they are making a mistake not keeping a proven talent like that. He's a true shutdown corner very rare these days ,,, for those who doubt that he had no problem shutting down Moss when the Titans played the Raiders. He's one of the few corners with the speed & ability to judge the ball in the air ,,, Pacmans a rare talent ! I hope Jeff Fisher and the Titans staff have patience and help nurture him into a good person ! Bill Walsh would assign off duty police officers to some of his wilder players a very wise thing to do ! People do grow up with time and good people around them and will eventually leave the wild stuff behind ! The Titans do have a great locker room & solid group of good people on their team not to mention a great coach !

I MUST SAY AS A TITANS FAN WE HAVE A WHOLE BUNCH OF NOBODYS FOR WIDEOUTS AND YET, THEY STILL HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO IMPROVE THAT POSITION... LIKE I FEEL LOST IN TRANSALTION!!!

March 10, 2008  06:36 PM ET

Vince needs the following, to even have chance to be good with the Titans..

A go to wideout..
A decent offensive line..
A decent running back.. Not a big White fan..

I do love the addition of Crumpler.. This will give Vince a huge target.. with wideout hands!

March 10, 2008  06:52 PM ET

Everyting you guys are saying about Vince is whatthey said about Vick! The difference is Vick never had more int than touchdowns. He was also faster than vince and took his team to the nfc championship game his first full year starting. He did that with no recievers and one of the WORST lines in the nfl!!! Crumpler will help vince though! No one gave vick a chance when he really only played four years and went to the playofs twice out of those four! He sat his rookie and broke his leg the third year.He played for six seasons.

March 10, 2008  06:54 PM ET

I like vince and hope he does well i just cant understand why he would get a pass and vick didnt. Media perception is messed up. Vick also is the ONLY quarterback to have 250 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in history! That is phenominal!

March 10, 2008  06:56 PM ET

Oh and vick had 3 different coordinators and still did pretty dang food. By the way i love dogs.

March 10, 2008  07:16 PM ET

what hurts vince and has hurt him this past few years is the inconsistency in offensive coordinators..unless your a veteran qb, this hurts any young qb trying to find his way into the pro setting...and i give big ups to vince for getting an education..at least we know that he's smart and thinking of other things than what his athletism can give him...

March 10, 2008  09:44 PM ET

It is way too easy to get down on the guy right now, give him some time. he will find his level..it takes at least four years for a QB to be judged fairly...
