Clemson RB won't play in '08

Running back Ray Ray McElrathbey, who gained attention two years ago for taking custody of his 11-year-old brother, Fahmarr, after their parent were unable to take care for him, will not play for the Tigers next season. Coach Tommy Bowden said that McElrathbey, 21, will graduate in August. McElrathbey has two years' eligibility left and could play for another school or remain at Clemson to pursue a master's degree.

WOW! This is a great story, when you look at the rest of the T&R's on the board;
USC tackle arrested at bar, OU signee arrested for felonies, USC recruit arrested in robbery......

Congratulations to an athlete who is far more mature than his age would seem to suggest. This is a great story. He obviously worked hard to get done early. This is what college football really should be about. A player who is willing to sacrfice some things for family and those he cares about.

I think he is going to try to get a masters.....with a Sociology degree a master is almost needed to get your career started.....then again with his lil fame....finding a job may have just got easier

The worst part of this story is it only received 8 comments!

This is why all the HEADLINERS (from the news on tv to every newspaper outlet) are about bad people, or bad things. I'm just as guilty for posting on the bad story, but I give credit to those who deserve it.

Alright, NOW I found out why this kid wont be playing football this year.....

Clemson wont renew his scholarship! Because they have a few good recruits & other RB's are better than him.
