07:12 AM ET 03.10 | With a dearth of top-flight centers available through free agency this summer -- Martin Straka, Brendan Morrison, Daymond Langkow and Vaclav Prospal top a mediocre list -- the Blue Jackets likely will need to make a trade to acquire the kind of difference-maker they need. Nothing helps swing an offseason trade like a No. 1 draft pick, especially in this salary-cap era, and now the Blue Jackets have two. Look for Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson to be active June 20 in Ottawa, site of the draft. Patrick Marleau, anyone?

Marleau is not going to CB. I agree with you Boston, Langkow is their best bet of those choices.

I like Howson's thinking here. After all, he's the guy who dumped Foote and Fedorove at the deadline for ... wait, did they get anything? Seriously, though, they dumped those salaries to make a play in the offseason. Marleau just signed an extension, so it's hard to see the BluJax - with little to offer in the way of top-caliber rookies - getting him.
Langkow is *sigh* they best they can do.
