Isiah hints at Knicks job security

When Isiah Thomas stood in front of reporters Monday and declared that Eddy Curry's conditioning "has never been a problem," you kept waiting for the punch line. And waiting, and waiting ... That was one of the more jaw-dropping comments Thomas has made this season, but it likely wasn't his last. These days, it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine if Thomas is simply playing games with the media or if he is no longer living in reality. Or maybe he just knows something no one else knows. For example, Monday Thomas not only spoke glowingly of Curry's fitness - "We're very comfortable with the weight he's played at" - but he also hinted that he has more job security than anyone at Cablevision not named Dolan.

Who will be gone first: Isiah Thomas or Gov. Spitzer...

March 11, 2008  09:29 AM ET

I wonder what kind of leverage Thomas has against Dolan to keep him on... He's beyond ridiculous.

I wonder if Thoomas and Matt Millen share the same photographer? Because they both must have some very incriminating photos of their bosses to keep their jobs!

March 11, 2008  10:08 AM ET

Thomas must have some dirt on Dolan. -This season is a waste for the storied franchise.

March 11, 2008  10:08 AM ET

What a moron!

Naw, he still looks like he's thinking something stupid

This reminds me of paying someone to burn down your business so you can collect the insurance money. You might want to check the Knicks' policy. Yup protection against wind, rain, fire, Isiah, flood, acts of God,,,

March 11, 2008  11:03 AM ET

The Knicks' franchise is now a full-fledged, 100% joke.

March 11, 2008  11:06 AM ET

If this Knicks mess isn't fixed by the time the Nets hit Brooklyn, I'm moving my allegiance to another borough.

March 11, 2008  11:25 AM ET

Scott Layden set the table and Isiah Thomas cooked dinner, served up the stink, and never really contemplated how cleaning it up would go. And he doesn't have to, because everyone is still sitting at the table, ready to throw up, staring at him wondering when he'll ever get up and leave for good. Its a complete mess that started years ago.

"We're very comfortable with the weight he's played at" - Isiah Thomas

Hey Isiah, your boy Curry is several donuts away from being the next Butter Bean. This coach is delusional.

March 11, 2008  11:44 AM ET

Talk about being off your rocker. This guy squandered away his basketball playing legacy by exposing whats between his ears, nothing! Moron is an understatement.

March 11, 2008  12:10 PM ET

I wonder what color the sky is in Isiah's world. Why in the world is this guy employed? Can's some billionaire somewhere buy out Dolan and get rid of this modern day Abbott and Costello routine?

March 11, 2008  12:24 PM ET

Aww come on now Isiah. We all know that Curry's around-the-way nickname was Tubbs. Let's get it together.

March 11, 2008  12:56 PM ET

"We're very comfortable with the weight he's played at"

The only way a coach could be comfortable with Curry's weight is if he owned a buffet.

March 11, 2008  12:58 PM ET

He's joking right? He cannot be serious.

March 11, 2008  01:56 PM ET

God the Knicks are a joke of a franchise. Isiah has run them into the ground and they have a roster of absolute crap. Hey all you idiot Knick fans I got a heads up for you. Lebrons not walking through that door. You can have all the wet dreams you want about it but its not happening. The kid isnt leaving Cleveland. If he wanted to play for a sorry team with sorry owners, a sorry GM, and horrible players maybe you wqould have a chance. You need to accept the fact your team is the biggest joke in the league. 80 some million for that piece of crap you run out there every night. Hell of a job!!!!

March 11, 2008  03:26 PM ET

Isiah's approval ratings should result in unemployment.

Regards,

George W. Bush
