An update of our Bofo Bautista to Chivas USA rumor. According to a reader: "Heard this morning on XM Deportivo that El Bofo Bautista coming to MLS is more than a rumor now. They didn't mention a team, however." As of last month the sources said: "They will enter talks after the Mexican Clausura ends."

According to who...?

Could have been the hobo in their office lobby for all we know. FanNation, so vague, so very vague sometimes...

If it was true it would be a tremendous signing for any MLS team, but that is a big IF.

March 11, 2008  12:17 PM ET

I don't believe it. If so way to go MLS. This is a big time signing.

March 11, 2008  12:35 PM ET

would be phenominal. If the MLS can keep bringing in talented mexicans the league will be boosted ten fold.

March 11, 2008  12:42 PM ET

I doubt this.

Are you guys kidding me? Have you seen him play with Mexico?!?!? He sucks...and he's a ball hog!

March 11, 2008  03:30 PM ET

That's great, lets have another mexican player who holds onto the ball too long and dives every chance he gets. Maybe we could go after some 5 division Italian players next. I'm sure they will quickly become Duke fans...

SI is using MLS Rumors as a source? Holy moly. Unless Bofo is willing to work for $400k or less, and his willing to be away from the eyes of Mexico National Team head coach Hugo Sanchez, there is no way this happens. Chivas USA does not have a DP spot, they traded theirs to Red Bulls. Remember that Paco Palencia left Chivas USA to go back to Mexico to get back into the mix for the Mexico National Team.

March 11, 2008  11:49 PM ET

If he goes anywhere it'd be Chivas. He's already big... I hate his hair, though. Can't stand it.

March 12, 2008  06:14 PM ET

Adolfo is a talented forward; might come over to the U.S. if they pay him enough. Joining Chicago Fire or Chivas USA would be great for him, the team, and the MLS.

Merge the two leagues together. Create a North American super league. Put us on the map already.
