Floyd denies LSU interest

Posted: Wednesday March 12, 2008 06:23AM ET

USC coach Tim Floyd won't comment on whether he has been contacted by Louisiana State, but reiterates that his current post will be his "last job." A consultant in the coaching search who has met with LSU officials in Baton Rouge said the school's top choice remained Virginia Commonwealth Coach Anthony Grant. Other potential candidates for the LSU opening include Massachusetts' Travis Ford, Washington State's Tony Bennett, Missouri's Mike Anderson, Southern Illinois' Chris Lowery and Tigers interim Coach Butch Pierre.

It's Not!

Pete Carroll now Tim Floyd! Will the rumors ever stop????

Report Offensive Comment

Well, when the Bush fiasco is settled, Carroll will be gone.

As for Floyd, why leave? You have non talented rapper's sons and NBA kids who need a one year college day care before jumping to the pros whom you don't have to recruit at all. It's a great easy job. And besides, the USC cheerleaders wear NO UNDERWEAR!

Leaving SC for LSU???... LOL... Oh man... Now THAT is funny

Floyd will go anywhere there's a 'hot dog with Mayo' to get a few W's and inflate his bio

Report Offensive Comment

SI is stretching on this one "Floyd denies interest," he flat out said he has no interest. Jealousy is a disease. Fight On!
Hey Warden - what's the weather like up there today? sucks.

Report Offensive Comment

He's better off at USC.

Report Offensive Comment

The Warden; you are a very funny, but slightly twisted guy; however, you make me laugh, so it's all cool.

Report Offensive Comment

Anthony Grant would be a good choice. He was Florida's guy for about three days.

Report Offensive Comment

Why would he want to leave USC? He is starting to build a program there, and will have an awesome program in a few years! Heck he already got a good team there this year! Plus he lives in California what could be better than that? I think LSU's best option is Anthony Grant which is a pretty good option if he wants it.

...so is stupidity, have you had your medicine today?

Report Offensive Comment

someone from fsu calling someone else stupid. that's rich. learn how to take a joke loser.

Report Offensive Comment

OJ Mayo will be the first decent pro to come out of USC in a while. At least in Louisiana you know you will get the fa,t athletic kids. Take guys like Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, and of course, the Diesel for example.

Report Offensive Comment

Um...neither jealousy nor stupidity are diseases, doctors.

Report Offensive Comment

And Shaq?????

Report Offensive Comment

Wow, MARINsur4, that is some brilliant analysis. You said that Floyd said he has no interest in the job. How is it stretching for SI to characterize that as denying interest?

"How's the weather up there?" That's clever. How's the gang violence down there? How's the housing market?

Report Offensive Comment

Fat, athletic kids like Tyrus Thomas? OK....

Report Offensive Comment

thatcher- I wondered whateve happened to margaret. You make me laugh too. Thanks :)

Report Offensive Comment

Thatcher - "denying interest" has the implication that there is interest on the part of Floyd. He has unequivocally stated SC is his last job. There is a difference. On top of that, LSU said they were never interested in him and have not contacted him.

How's the housing market? Look at my name, google Marin County and tell me how the housing market is.

Report Offensive Comment

he better hope it's not his last job.
