Providence coach on way out?

West Virginia solidified its NCAA chances with a 58-53 victory Wednesday over Providence in the opening round of the Big East Tournament. It may have been a costly loss for Providence coach Tim Welsh, who could be out of a job. Welsh, on the hot seat throughout the season, dropped to 1-9 in the tournament. In 10 seasons, he has led the Friars (15-16) to only two NCAA Tournament berths.

Tough large conference. The addition of Louisville, Marquette makes this conference deeper then before. Tough to see the former Big East players in the celler like Seton Hall, St Johns, and Providence. Tim will land on his feet, probably not in the Big East.

Welsch sucks. As a PC student, I watch them play all the time. Providence has the talent to compete in the big east at a high level, but they are very inconsistent. Certain times they look like they can beat anyone, as they played close with G'town up until about 6 minutes left in the 2nd half, and throwing away a road victory against Notre Dame. Thye beat UConn twice...The team at times looks like htey are clueless on offense, and that is why i blame Tim Welsh. He has no gameplan or offensive sets that work

The PC coach has had enough time to show that he can coach at this level. Based on his record, it is time for a new coach that is more suited to the type of talent that PC attracts, and to the level of play in the Big East.

It is time for Tim Welsh to go! He has been there for 10 seasons and has barely anything to show for his tenure.
