06:26 AM ET 03.14 | Talks between the Jets and Broncos on a trade that could send Dewayne Robertson to Denver have been resurrected according to another source (though it's unclear whether yesterday's announcement that Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist is no longer with the team will temper or accelerate the conversations).

Let's hope so.

Loki, that's how bottom tier teams become top tier teams. Sometimes a player is just a much better fit somewhere else. Wes Welker comes to mind.

J. - Not sure if I could agree that he will be 'great' in a 4-3, since he was never more than average with the Jets's 4-3 in the past. He's a servicable body in the middle, nothing more.....
For the Jets to unload him for anything (middle of the road draft picks) would be sweet
Now Vilma- he will be great in the 4-3 in NO......he deserves a fresh start.

if denver wants to stay under the cap they have to do some shuffling, and if the jets want any draft picks they gotta trade for them

My concern is as follows....that bulbous protrusion from Mr Robertson's midriff is quite extensive. If he stops his exercise routine, they may need to butter his hips to fit him through the door.

we rule

March 14, 2008  10:31 AM ET

2007 Stats: 15 games, 36 tackles, 21 assists, 4 sacks, 1 fr

Career (5 seasons): 174 games, 174 tackles, 84 assists, 14.5 sacks, 3 ff, 2 fr

Thats as a 1 tech in a 3-4 system. Means he played nose guard versus double team blocks from the center and guards every play.

Now put him in a 3 tech in a 4-3 defense and his average-to above average stats will rise dramatically.

It'd be a good deal for the Broncos. Plus he's only 26 going on 27?

March 14, 2008  10:46 AM ET

Yea bring him in. Why not? Maybe he'll actually be decent when he's here, kinda like Gerard Warren, and Lord knows we need help up front. I don't know though, I don't think I like this business of getting d-lineman from somewhere other than Cleveland...

hey things have changed since the last time i was here

TwoStepBend- You can't use Welker as an example of a "crap" player who starred in another setting. No one doubted his talent when he was with Miami. People doubt "crap" players talent.

March 14, 2008  11:03 AM ET

Just another example of Denver going after overrated veteran players (see Dre' Bly for example)....They won't get past being a .500 team until Mike Shannahan, or whoever is picking the players is gone.

March 14, 2008  11:30 AM ET

Loki, it is very similar to how the bottom feeding skins go out and overpay for untalented free agents every year and end up in the cellar then proceed to cut them the next season. Rinse and repeat. The difference is that things will change in Denver but in Washington there will always be an idiot owner willing to spend gold prices for gold spray paint.

Yep, that Mike Shanahan. What did he ever do for the Broncos? He hasn't got what it takes to be a successful NFL Head Coach.

What's the latest on talks with Takeo Spikes and the Niners

March 14, 2008  01:08 PM ET

Another trade rumor is Mangina to the Broncos for Shanahan. Who gets the best of that trade ???

March 14, 2008  01:20 PM ET

Why would anybody trade for the guy when you KNOW he will be released before june 1. NO WAY will the Jets keep him at 9 million against their cap this year.....The Jets made a big mistake on this guy, why should another team pay for their stupidity..

My Bad...Make that 11 million against their cap..This year,,..
