Rutgers linebacker back on track

The hitch he ran with all of last season -- after pushing himself to return sooner than anyone expected -- is gone now. Rutgers middle linebacker Ryan D'Imperio runs without a limp and makes the sharp cuts as if his gruesome leg injury, the one he suffered in spring practice last year, was a distant memory. It moved toward becoming more of one recently when D'Imperio had screws removed from his leg after suffering a compound fracture a year ago at this time. When the injury first occurred, head coach Greg Schiano called D'Imperio's shattered leg one of the worst breaks he'd ever seen. "It feels 100 percent," said D'Imperio, a 6-3, 235-pound junior. "It doesn't bother me at all. I can run, plant, cut and do everything I need to do. I don't have any restrictions."
