Beaver Stadium tops Big House

08:22 AM ET 03.14 | Penn State will beat Michigan in the next two seasons, at least when it comes to stadium seating capacity for football. The Wolverines' Michigan Stadium seats 107,501 people, making it the nation's largest stadium. "The Big House" holds about 200 more people than Penn State's Beaver Stadium, the runner-up. But Michigan Stadium will lose some seats next season as officials improve wheelchair accessibility to settle a lawsuit. That means seating capacity at Michigan will dip to 106,201, putting Beaver Stadium (107,282) on top. Michigan officials say their stadium could reclaim the distinction in 2010, once a round of upgrades is finished.

Dont worry, my huge ego will make up for the difference...

Finally, PSU beats Michigan.

At least you can see the field from the worst seat in Michigan Stadium. The seats they added on at Penn State are for the drunk alumni who probably wouldn't know who was on the field anyway. We Are! Stu-Pid!

makeham -
1. What section are you referring to? I've never had a seat where I couldn't see literally anything and the newest section is also the most expensive, no drunks.

2. Penn State is a steeper stadium which means more noise and possibly closer seats.

Thanks for the ignorant post.

Both stadiums are different but good for the Big 10.

Beaver Stadium is just so consuming, I have never seen anything like it. Its big it loud, the students are complete asses, its a beautiful thing...much like some of the other best stadiums in the country...
Michigan on the other hand is so quiet you can hear the QB audible the play

As a Michigan Fan...I will say this...the Big House is in GREAT need of a rennovation...seeing at it's the quietest 100k plus stadium in the country. Too open, doesn't contain the sound. But I actually don't give a rats **** what the capacity is as long as I don't have to sit next to some stale broad from class of '51 like I did last time I was there.

What does stadium capasity matter. What really matters is how loud it is. And LSU has by far the loudest, craziest stadium in the nation.

and TRUTH has entered the building!

March 14, 2008  01:18 PM ET

Really! Now that we are 200 seats behind, should we lose the name (the big house) until 2010 also? Why worry? If RR works out they will add a few seats. If not, the 200 seats will not be a issue, believe me on this one!

March 14, 2008  02:41 PM ET

I believe it's called 'overcompensation.'
