Cadillac still uncertain for '08
Bucs running back Cadillac Williams is optimistic about playing in 2008, but he is realistic and knows it might not happen. Williams suffered a career-threatening knee injury on Sept. 30 against Carolina. He tore his patellar tendon after sprinting up the right sideline on an 18-yard gain. Williams had surgery in October and has been rehabilitating since. Although he wants to play this season, it will be a challenge for him to be ready by training camp.

This is sad...Greg Lloyd had this and was never the same...no one's was worse thanRobert Edwards of the Pats who nearly lost his leg.

I really feel for him. It's a shame because he was an amazing talent. I pray he comes back and proves all of us doubters all wrong.

if the Bucs are going to make it anywhere near the Super Bowl (or past the 1st round at least) then they are going to have to get this guy back and healthy.. Dunn will not get the job done like he used to in the past and they will find that out

I just don't see how a back can come back from an injury like that and be half as effective as they were before, especially a finesse back like he was. I'd be a lot more optimistic if he were a power back.
I hope he does return though, if for no other reason than I'm tired of buying new Bucs player jerseys.

hahaha I feel for u nin_man I am a Dolphins fan and a Bucs fan, I was debating to get a Earnest Graham but John Gruden gives less respect to players then any other coach I have ever seen. Graham was a stud and people dont even think of him as a starter 222 carries for 894 yards and 10 tds pretty good numbers huh? what they reward him w? Back on the special teams.
Cadillac was an inspiring player because his rookie season he got stopped and after that he would gain 4 more yards, I love that type of player, but to that type of player this type of injuries come along. Sad

this team is fine. plenty of depth. Best D# in the league for years. Griese was a nice addition also as the chances of most QB's in the league to play a full season is slim. You need backups in this day/age and TB has got it.

jesus..had no idea he got injured that badly. His wiki states doctors doubt he can ever come back to full strength. Hopefully some kinda miracle happens. Sad to see a guys career cut short...

I pray for Caddy...really hope he can beat the odds and make a great comeback. On the other hand, I also pray Chucky can see the potential he has in Graham, Bennett and Dunn (in that order) and really use them...who cares if they are "t.v. friendly" (see Offseason Confidential report above re Graham). Graham has fought hard and deserves the chance to be the starter, hands down. Give the guy a chance Chucky, you got the back-ups to afford it.
Need to get their hands on a great reciever though...! SUPERBOWL BOUND (can't blame a guy for praying!)!
GO BUCS!!!

Trade him. We have enough running back talent with Earnest Grahm and Micheal Bennet. and with warrick dunn, he's just extra baggage.

Shame. Him and Ronnie Brown have hit a run of bad luck...you'd think splitting duties in college would've made them a bit less injury prone. I hope he can make it back close to where he was coming into the league.

He's one of the most humble NFL players around and is someone you like to have represent your team. He's been faced with a very tough situation and either way he'll be a fan favorite for years. Hopefully the injury will not affect his life in other ways and he has enough wealth to live comfortable. At least he has his cleats in the NFL Hall of Fame and is in the record books.

On another note. I also believe Graham deserves a shot. It should be his job to lose, not lost by default since he dosen't have the hype or flash. Fact is he can catch and flat out run people over. He keeps his legs going through hits and nowadays it's rare you don't see a running back start going down as they prepare for a hit. Bennett and Dunn will compliment the backfield nicely for a change of pace and some dual back sets. We also bolstered our line by signing Jeff Fayne so there should be some holes opened up. If for some reason Caddy does come back, he needs to earn his role. Frankly, Graham was flat out more productive then Caddy was at full heatlh (Caddy gets the benefit of the doubt though since defenses prepared to shut him down and didn't really respect Earnest).
