Saints, Deuce put off decision

The Saints and tailback Deuce McAllister agreed to push back his $1 million roster bonus from March 15 to April 15, giving the team a better chance to gauge his health before making any financial decisions. McAllister, 29, is recovering from surgery on both of his knees in late September. He expects to be ready for the team's summer minicamp, usually around June 1, but he said he was agreeable to the postponement because it gives him more time to prove he'll "make good on the investment."

It's never a good decision to hold off on a duece. They need to find somewhere where they comfortable.

A class act....how refreshing for the NFL!

I agree; good move for both the team and for McAllister

McAllister is done.

Surgery on both his knees this year and one on his left I believe two years ago.

Sounds like a Draft Day trade. You can easily save money for the free agency market by denying him that pay. Draft comes up...they decide that he's still not up to par....trade him for a marquee player and draft picks or a spot up on the boards. He wont be back next year.

Terry Allen had success following multiple knee surgeries. Duece is a stud. I hope he makes it back ok.

I like Deuce as much as the next guy, but hes coming off years of multiple knees surgeries and hes close to becoming 30 years old. The Saints need younger, bigger back to supplement Bush.

WOW thats pure Class. To wait longer to recieve a million when he doesnt have too. We need more like him in the NFL.

Deuce you are the man. I have followed you since your days at Ole Miss. Please don't leave New Orleans. Deuce will have a monster season this year! WATCH AND SEE!
