Kitna expects 10 wins for Lions
Posted: Sunday March 16, 2008 08:34AM ET
Jon Kitna is at it again. The Lions' quarterback once again set the standard for their 2008 season as 10 wins or bust. Kitna didn't make a prediction, referring to it rather as a statement of fact. He would be disappointed if the Lions don't win 10 games with the -- ahem -- improvements they've made in coaching and player personnel.

Report Offensive CommentWell they were well on their way last season until they fell apart, so they might be able to get it done this year?

Report Offensive Commentdidn't kitna say the exact same thing last year?

Report Offensive CommentNo he predicted 10 wins last year. There is a huge difference between predicting, and saying that anything less than the playoffs is a dissapointment. I would rather have 10 Kitnas that want to get to the playoffs, than most other lions in the past, who were content with 3-4 wins.

Report Offensive CommentSteelersinMD,
You obviously haven't watched much Lions football. Yes, there defense is bad, but they also led the NFL in takeaways for more than half the season. They had some of the most talented skill players on offense yet they could hardly use them because there offensive line is so bad that Kitna had the least amount of time to get rid of the ball in the NFL.

Report Offensive Commentif yall dont know anything about the lions then dont leave a comment. truth to the matter is the lions have gutted the entire team, most the starters would be third stringers on almost any other team. that is including john kitna. And it completely sums up the off season.

Report Offensive CommentTiCal....without fat Shaun Rogers and a mediocre secondary this team is in big trouble. Just like the Steelers their first half schedule was soft. The defense needs an immediate infusion of talent. Meaning: being three corner back deep and stopping the run. They should think of going to a 3-4 now that they do not have the personell for a 4-3. Linebackers much easier to find then stud DTs. You know in 2005 the Bengals D got a tremendous amount of turnovers...how did their season end? I have fallen asleep enough times on Thanksgivingwatching the Lions play catch up to know their defense needs help and the NFL needs to end the Dallas and Detroit tradition so we get more "meaningful" games to watch

Report Offensive CommentWell they did resign Foster and Bell, two players who for the most part were benched last season for poor play. This team is a joke. It will ALWAYS be a joke as long as Ford owns the team. That elitist cares nothing for winning. Example: Matt Millen, the absolute worst GM to EVER run a team in the history of pro sports. This team makes me sick.

The reason they started out 6-2 is because of their schedule, they beat teams that were not good last season. The only team they beat in that stretch that was a playoff team was Tampa Bay, who was by far the worst playoff team last season. When the Lions played real teams in the first 8 games, Eagles and Skins, they had their asssses hand to them, 56-21 and 34-3. Those two games should have shown Lions fans that their team had no chance of winning more than 1 game in their last 8 games of the season, when they had to play teams that had winning records, except for Kansas City, who the Lions got their last win of the season against. This team will not win 10 games this upcoming season, not with Kitna under center.

Report Offensive Commentwho died and made me king slug? no one im just sick of posts like, "Well they were well on their way last season until they fell apart, so they might be able to get it done this year". anyone who follows this team knowxs that anything more than 5 wins next year, regardless of schedule is impossible. they have gotten rid of all the good players with exception to 3, sims williams and jhonson. but on the plus side they raised ticket prices.
