Taylor wants to stay with Dolphins
Posted: Sunday March 16, 2008 08:32AM ET
Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor, the subject of offseason trade rumors, said he wants to remain with the Dolphins and expects that to happen. Taylor told Sirius Satellite Radio and NFL Network in recent days that he has no intention of retiring and denied a previous yahoo.com report that he and the Dolphins have agreed to part ways by April's draft. Taylor told NFL Network he never has spoken with Dolphins executive vice president Bill Parcells. He also said the team might not like his plan to appear on ABC's Dancing With The Stars. ''I've never talked to him,'' Taylor said of Parcells. ``. . . I'm sure he's not thrilled about the show.'' Parcells said this month that Taylor will play for the Dolphins next season unless he retires.

Report Offensive CommentDon't tell the Patriots fans because they've already got him inked in the game day programs.

Report Offensive CommentIf the Dolphins let Taylor go, Parcells is not the genious I thought that he was! The Dolphins cannot let go their best player thats crazy talk!

Report Offensive CommentParcells only wants guys on his team that want to be there and that buy into his way of thinking. When he was in Dallas, Jerry made it clear that he was in bed with TO... so Parcells did what he needed to do. He left. No way he was going to work with a guy he didn't trust or believe in and vice versa. While Taylor is no TO, he can be the cancer that tears the rebuilding process up. If he wants to go, ship him out.

Report Offensive CommentI'm suprised, I'd think he would go to a team that doesn't suck.

Report Offensive CommentHe doesn't know what he wants one minute I want to go and the next I want to stay. Make up your mind JT.
nascarzorin | 03/16/08, 02:00 PM
Report Offensive CommentHaha, i dont believe there was ever ANY trade talk about JT really. People just assumed it would happen because he was old, and they got rid of Zack. He'll be in Miami until he retires.

Report Offensive Commentits a perfect time to trade him for a few picks in the draft.parcells wants a clean slate and jasons value is pretty high, perfect timing.i like taylor alot and think hes great but its time to completely overhaul this team and he can command alot on the open market.phins are still a few years away from anything pending parcells moves work out .as for the right now we have to do this as much as people dont want to see taylor go.again the timing is just to right for it .

Report Offensive CommentIt's a shame he'll retire before this team has a chance to contend.
Right now, he could help a team thats "there" push toward a bowl..
I bet the g-men would give him a shot at contributing.

Report Offensive CommentJason Taylor is overrated AND he can't dance
nysportsman | 03/16/08, 05:35 PM
Report Offensive CommentI said it before, time has come for the Dolphins and Jason Taylor to go their "separate ways"... Can you hear the Journey classic playing in the background?
As Jason reunites with Zack in Dallas, Miami gets either their first and second picks in the upcoming draft... Miami could probably even work out a trade for the Cowboys 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks for Jason Taylor...
Good deal for both teams, as he is a proven player who wants the chance to play for a contender, and can certainly improve the Dallas defense over the next two seasons... if not three.
While Miami gets young talent and keeps filling out holes, building a competitive team in the process...
In an ideal world "Old #54 and Old #99"will contribute to a Dallas Super bowl win and retire with their rings...

Report Offensive CommentTaylor wants out! Why is he denying it? By the time they will be winning, if they ever win again Taylor will have retired. He needs to push for the trade!

Report Offensive CommentMiami could surprise some people next year if Jon Beck becomes anything close to competent. Their defense could be stellar with the new 3-4.
