Cal transfer eyes Washington
Cal running back James Montgomery, a familiar name to UW fans who follow recruiting closely, is transferring and reportedly says he has the Huskies on his short list of potential next destinations. However, it's uncertain if the Huskies have room to take Montgomery, or if they would be interested. UW has a full complement of 85 scholarship players on its current roster, including eight listed as running backs or tailbacks.

I'm not sure any Pac10 team will guarantee Montgomery a starting position ... probably he should go to a junior college or maybe DivII ... he wants to be 'happy' going to practice -- good luck. the rigors of Cal were too much, as was the competition. too many high school stars are so used to the attention and being so much better than their then limited competition that finding out other guys just at your own college are bigger, faster, better is a tough lesson to learn. go Bears!

Will never happen in a million years, not after the way he lied to UW coaches and the comments he made afterwords. He made a poor decision on signing day and is paying for it now.
BTW, it wasn't the O-Line that cost UW the Hawaii game (as well as other games), it was the D-Line.

Montgomery is good, but just not good enough because Cal has some horses at RB right now. I'm sure Montgomery will have a nice career, but he's smart to leave if he wants playing time, b/c there's no way he would have gotten it at Cal.

There is always the WAC conference and I am not being sacastic. He can stay in the Western part of the country and if he chooses the right team, he can go bowling and possibly start.
