Nuggets consider Smith's future

There will be numerous discussions among the Nuggets brass about J.R. Smith. He will be a restricted free agent this summer. If the season had ended in January, the J.R. discussion would have been different than if the season ends today. Of late, he has shown more defensive discipline and the kid can knock down the 3.

"Defensive discipline"? Since when have the Nuggets been concerned with playing defense? Any team with Allen Meverson on it will never play championship caliber defense and will never challenge for a title.

LMFAO Can somebody please tell me who on that team even knows the definition of defense.
Defense is NOT the first team to make it to 130 wins.
Defense is not allowing a defensive minded team score a franchise best against you
Defense is not waiting on the other end of the court playiing an expensive adult version of HORSE with the other team

Report Offensive CommentThe better keep him and get rid of G. Karl. Smith is too talented to let blossom somewhere else.

but really, hes the only one that plays d on that team.

Report Offensive CommentHe played pretty well with the Hornets but i have not seem him blossum as much as the Nuggets would have hoped. They might have problems keeping him with AI, Carmelo, K Mart, Camby having big contracts already.

True, Marcos Camby is the frontrunner of DPOY. But that shows how sad the NBA selection is
Hmmm Nuggets allowing opponents to score an average of 105.4pts per game and ranked 28th in the NBA for PTS allowed Camby is sure earning his keep, by keeping the Nuggets from being Dead last in defense
Texasmade | 03/19/08, 05:54 PM
Report Offensive CommentDenver is ranked 6th in overall defense. PPG is a fools stat.

If a team is still allow the opponents to score and average of 105.4 pts per game then no matter what your overall defense is ranked (it in the top 3) You are going to lose more then your fair share of games and you are more likely to lose games that you weren't suspose to loose especially if you are average not that much more pts than your opponents, Lucky for Nuggets that is not the case
