Now with the NFL....the games will continue. People are gonna want their share of what they think they should be paid. As far as attending games at the stadium - it is like a friggin booze fest. But that is only human nature - I guess. They do not want to play then - hey we can watch another show on the boob tube. Players do not like being treated like cattle - hey that is their issue. That is life. Look at Vick - how stupid can a person be, but then again he never has to even play footballl ever again.

It is what it is and the fans have no say in any of it. Yes, there will be a stoppage of play in two years, I have no doubt of that. Just enjoy the next two years and let them work it out..We have no choice.

Its crazy. No one forced the owners to agree to the previous agreement. I know they put in this clause in case they didn't like how the profits looked after it went into effect. But heck, don't kill a season.

One issue that has to be addressed is the rookie pay. Its nuts that the 1st choice will make over $35 million without any proof they can really play at this level. They need to find some means to pay them fairly, and instead free up $ to pay the vets what they deserve.

I have to disagree with you...in principle. We, the fans, are ultimately the ones who keep pro sports operating. If enough fans would just say, "Look, this is BS. ALL of the players and owners in the League are getting rich PLAYING A GAME! Find a way to make it work or WE will strike..." then this nonsense would end once and forever.

But, of course, this will NEVER happen. Too many people unwilling to give up their Sunday entertainment to take a stand. Sad.

There is sensationalism in this article. It may mean nothing but it is also originating in a city where the owner wants to dump the cap. Redskins love strike years! (Joke).

However, the NFL owners are fools individually at times but pretty sharp when in a group. If you don't believe this, compare them to MLB. For that reason, 50year -- I disagree about the work stoppage -- this will be worked out. I see some union discord building, though.

What the fans also ignore is that these BUSINESSES are protected monopolies!

Who didn't see this coming? Everyone knew the Salary Cap was going to expire in a few years, and of course the NFLPA doesn't want it... the players want to make MLB money. Will that happen? Of course not. Owners would rather there not be a 2011 NFL season then wind up paying ppl such as Tom Brady 250 million over 6 years. I say it will happen, and the NFLPA will eventually cave into the Salary Cap coming back. The NFL wouldn't survive w/o it.

The owners always win. Money talks and BS walks...

And like an acute case of immediate postprandial upper abdominal distension, this to shall pass.
