NBA to consider expanding replay

The NBA will consider an expansion of instant replay that could take effect as early as next season, SI.com has learned. The new application appears to have the blessing of coaches as well as the league office, which will present the concept to its competition committee in June. Wary of creating regulations that could interrupt the flow of play, the league is examining a limited use of replay that would enable officials to instantly convert a three-point shot into a two-pointer, or vice versa. "The one area that we're exploring is the three-vs.-two shot call near the end of a game,'' said Stu Jackson, the executive VP of basketball operations for the NBA.

That's not broad enough. The replay should be used at all times when a play or call can affect the outcome of the game, I've always wanted some kind of "challenge" opportunity added to the NBA like in football. Here's my proposal.

Each coach has an opportunity to challenge 1 call per half. If the challenge is lost the team loses 1 full time out and a technical foul is awarded to the opposing team, if the challenge is won, the call/score is corrected and not timeout is lost.

I think its a start in the right direction. There are too many missed things in the games lately. With the technology available why don't we use it.

Looks good; however, I would not hit the team with a technical if they were wrong. It would make it too difficult to use the challenge in a close game during the last couple of minutes.

missing calls is apart of the game you cant get all the calls right, i wish they would let hand checking be legal again so we can see some physical defense like back in the day.

I'll giver kudos to the NBA for at least making an attempt to expand the replay option.
My only concern is that they may only do it half arse
