Daniel stars in Mizzou scrimmage

Missouri's first scrimmage of the spring season reaffirmed what many who watched the Tigers' 12-2 season last year knew: This team is good. And it's still good despite losing a few key players to graduation. The first-string offense and defense dominated, though they never played each other. The No. 1 unit on each side of the ball was paired up with its No. 2 counterpart, showing a large disparity between the two strings, especially on offense. Quarterback Chase Daniel completed five of six passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. But when he left the scrimmage after just two series, the other two quarterbacks were unable to emulate his efficiency.

Mizzouri is going to win the national championship game, because dainels is the best qb in the nation

March 21, 2008  11:07 AM ET

This means what exactly?

March 21, 2008  11:50 AM ET

dont know,dont care

March 21, 2008  11:58 AM ET

Missouri is not gonna win the national championship game because quite frankly they proved to me that they couldn't handle great teams when they were destroyed by Oklahoma 2 games in a row. Missou and thier golden boy were both a product of thier schedule as was Kansas.

He can pick 'em!

March 21, 2008  01:23 PM ET

Missouri has a football team?

March 21, 2008  03:32 PM ET

right, didnt kansas win the orange bowl? and how did lsu do against arkansas? they won 38-7 right? im pretty sure texas tech, illinois, arkansas, kansas, a and m were products of the schedule...lsu enjoy the championship now, but mizzou will be celebrating next january

March 21, 2008  03:49 PM ET

First string beating second string pretty bad just shows a lack of depth. Mizzou better hope no one gets hurt from the first string.

March 21, 2008  04:16 PM ET

Duuuh bettr'n hope the QB don't get hurt. Who cares? Do we really have to play football west of the Mississippi?

March 21, 2008  05:15 PM ET

Didn't LSU beat the team Kansas beat in the orange bowl 48-7. VT was not an elite team. And Arkansas wasn't either they were one demensional with a bad secondary.

March 21, 2008  08:00 PM ET

Missouri is gonna be a top 5 team at teh end of this year, trust me!

March 21, 2008  10:22 PM ET

Yeah right

March 21, 2008  11:54 PM ET

Missouri is a conundrum. Again, they may take the college football nation by storm, or they could flop fltat on their arses! It's really hard to predict with Missouri. I'd like to see Missouri go all the way, because I'm tired of this potentially excellent program choking year in and year out. Go Tirgers!!!

March 22, 2008  01:16 AM ET

well if arkansas was one dimensional and had a bad secondary why did lsu get beat by them? and didnt they also lose to kentucky? ouch...they lucked out and got to play ohio state in the nat'l championship otherwise they wouldnt have that title, o well now that saban's boys are gone lsu is screwed

March 22, 2008  11:03 AM ET

LSU was flat and they felt like they could just go out and run over arkansas, but they should of known better because you can't do that with any SEC team.

March 22, 2008  11:15 AM ET

and hold up djmilus your complete moron look at LSU's roster 20 seniors. 10 of them consistently saw the field, these seniors spent one year under Saban in which they went 9-3. However since miles got them he has had 3 strait 10 win seasons the thing for to be concerned about is if he can do that with someone elses players imagine what he can do with his own. Because aside from last year LSU has consistently been top 5 in recruiting since he got here. And look at the was he's finished each season #5, #3, #1. Notice a trend? But of coarse your small mind can't open up and except facts. The only thing coming out of your idiotic mouth is opinions. Look at the facts before you talk. Most of the starters on this years team was mile's players heck they all were mile's players. And LSU didn't "Luck Out" to get to the national championship they went through a brutal schedule in which they played VT, South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio State. No one can "Luck Out" with that schedule but I guess your tiny brain can't comprehend that.

LSUrocks1 made some strong points; but he forgot one that might hurt Miles' & LSU's chances for a repeat. That one point is Bo Pelini - Nebraska got Bo back and we all know that Bo knowa defense. I salute LSU and wish them the best of luck in this coming season, but GO BIG RED and restore the Blackshirts!!!

March 23, 2008  03:10 AM ET

Mizzou good? Hmm they might get another BCS bid but national champs will belong to TEXAS, and rightfully so.

March 23, 2008  12:35 PM ET

Texas??? Thats funny, they wont even make the Big12 title let alone the national title. Just like last year, it will be the Tigers and the Sooners at Arrowhead for the Big12, most likley with the title game on the line.

Also, LSUrocks, before you start talking national title maybe your boys should worry about finding a decent QB, that can control himself. YOu guys will be good this year but only if Ryan is not the QB.

The Tigers were not destroyed by the Sooners last year either, if you had bothered to watch either game you would know that the games were both closer than the score showed. 1 late turnover for a TD in each game sealed the Tigers fate, but in no way were they destroyed.

He made a good decision not to make himself eligible for the draft, he will be a first day pick next year if the scouts don't knock him on his height!
