Dupuis may join Crosby-Hossa line

Forward Pascal Dupuis is making a compelling case to play left wing on a line with Sidney Crosby and right wing Marian Hossa. Dupuis has scored two goals and recorded 10 points in 11 games since coming to the Penguins, along with Hossa, in a trade with Atlanta on Feb. 26. "He doesn't have the same role as Hossa or (Evgeni) Malkin, but there's no doubt about what he brings," coach Michel Therrien said. "He brings speed, and he understands the game. He seems really comfortable playing the way we play."

The way he has been playing he was an awesome pick up in that trade. It would make sense to play him with Crosby and Hossa and have a speed line.

Yeah, this guy really turned into a deal breaker. If Hossa can be dominant - and there is no reason to think he won't be, once he and Crosby are united - then they got an elite player and the "throw in" just happens to be working out very well indeed. I figured Dupuis would be brought in for a shut-down type role - Kris Draper style (speed, defensive awareness, etc) - and instead he comes in and shines. Good for this kid and good for the Pens. Its always nice when a trade deadline gamble works out

I could play on the wing with Hossa and Crosby.

Talk about speed! That I can't wait to see.

Hey BostonGM....that was a good comment: "Banger-Playmaker-Scorer" Well said.

Pittsburg is going to be a very dangerous team come playoff time, with or without joec on the wing.

The Pens will go deep if their goaltending can hold up. I would like to see them in the Cup finals.

March 24, 2008  05:25 PM ET

I'm going to Dupuis my pants if that goalie wins them a cup.

I see their goaltending sucked last night. Is this a sign of things to come?? I would say YES!

Dupuis definitely compliments Hossa and Crosby well with his defensive ability, nice little offensive touch, and his speed. I really like the choice of him to be their winger...he is a good replacement for Colby!

ArisDragon that is because they started Conklin who has been struggling...I guess you haven't seen Fluery play since he got back from his injury...he has been on fire!
