Pacman to meet Playmaker in Dallas

Embattled Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was scheduled to land in Dallas on Monday night in advance of an appearance on the Michael Irvin Show on ESPN Radio on Tuesday. Why do a local radio show when national types would love to have him? Perhaps because the Cowboys -- the team Jones has stated he'd like to play for -- appear to be his most serious suitor.

Is the show being broadcast from a studio or a strip club?
kidding !..
May have to listen to the webcast on it.. surely it will be interesting

I believe that playing for the Cowboys is the best situation for Pacman. The Cowboys have a lot of veteran players who will not take any of his crap. Hopefully a year away from football and a change of scenery will help Pacman not only learn that it is an honor to play professional football, but to learn that in life you have to play by the rules.

March 25, 2008  07:39 AM ET

well I respectfully disagree. Had he learnt his lesson, it would have happened after the first or even the 2nd altercation. Leopards dont change their spots, chameleons do and a lizard isnt quite the genre of reptile most people consider Jones to be.
How's his conditioning? Has he been working out at all? A year off is a long time. I'd be interested in seeing a story on that if and when he gets traded OR reinstated ..

March 25, 2008  07:41 AM ET

This might be the first step in Pacman's personal/professional life recovery.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of a doubt.
Good luck Adam.

March 25, 2008  08:04 AM ET

Only time will tell. But the good thing is, Pac has already stated that he would redo his 3yrs remaining on his contract to make it more cap friendly. It would also have no hit on the cap space if he was released.

So you give up a 5th round pick for an already talented and test CB and a helluva PR. He can immediately contribute as the nickle CB or maybe evern the no. 2.

March 25, 2008  08:04 AM ET

nickel...

March 25, 2008  08:20 AM ET

Thats PROVIDED Goodell reinstates him in the next 30 days. If he isnt reinstated, noone will touch that trade. How can he immediately contribute? the guy hasnt played in over a year.

March 25, 2008  08:23 AM ET

If he is reinstated.....He will be intime for voluntary workouts, conditioning. Then he will hit training camps. Are you telling me that he can't get into shape before the season starts. This guy is not a 320lb lineman. He is a 190lb DB. He will be fine.

Trust me, he can not be half as bad as Jaques Reeves is. His immediate impact would be at PR. A key area that Dallas must address.

March 25, 2008  08:25 AM ET

I believe in second chances for a lot of these players who have made mistakes. But Adam Jones is different. For reasons I cannot fully justify he is the one guy I cannot accept being allowed to play in the NFL again. I will seriously consider completely giving up on my attention span to the NFL if Jones is back in the league. Plus, I'm an Oakland fan too, so there's two legit reasons to spend Sundays doing something else this coming fall.

March 25, 2008  08:29 AM ET

If Pacman is allowed to walk free on the streets in America, why can't he play football? If the "legal system" deems he hasn't commited an act worth being sent to jail, then why can't he play football?

Hes 190lb DB that spent the last year partying and hanging in strip joints? Thats a conditioned athlete?

March 25, 2008  08:30 AM ET

didnt he plead guilty to felony counts?

March 25, 2008  08:32 AM ET

He does have youth on his side and with the proper incentive, which it seems he's getting from the cowboys, it shouldn't take him that long to get back into playing condition.
Granted, it would have been better if he hadn't been such a bone-head in the beginning, but give him a chance. At least he isn't in New England.

March 25, 2008  08:35 AM ET

didnt he plead guilty to felony counts?

KPKahder | 03/25/08, 08:30 AM

If you're talking about the Las Vegas strip club incident, he plead no contest to a misdemeanor, conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct. Ine-year, probation, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service

March 25, 2008  08:35 AM ET

......Leopards dont change their spots......

KPKahder | 03/25/08, 07:39 AM

I respectfully disagree, KP. Leopards change their spots all the time. The point in question is whether Pacboy has the ability to change - I have my doubts.
