Ronaldinho close to Inter move
Posted: Tuesday March 25, 2008 08:25AM ET
Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho is closing in on a summer move to Inter Milan, according to sources in Italy. Sources in Italy claim that the 28-year-old will certainly move to Inter in the summer, with both the player's, and club's sponsor, Nike, financing much of the deal. At the beginning of next week a meeting will take place between the Nerazzurri management, representatives of Nike, and Ronaldinho's agent. Barcelona will not stand in the way of a sale.

Sad to see him go. I lived in Barca for a year and root for them. I'm also a fan of Ronnie Cowboy, but sometimes players need a change of scenery, just like anybody else.

Report Offensive CommentI just don't see this happening. It would be a mistake to go to Inter Milan. AC would be fine, but Inter just doesn't have the talent he needs. Inter are good, but he is above that. All he would have is Zlatan Ibr, and no other real playmakers. I'll believe this when it happens.

Report Offensive CommentAdriano is doing a good job here of finding the net for Sao Paulo. He should have more goals than he does in fact, I've seen quite a few near misses as well. But perhaps if he really finds his form he might be able to help out once again. Perhaps.

Report Offensive CommentI guess 'cus they will sell a crapload of Ronaldinho shirts.

Report Offensive CommentNike is probably involved if Ronny has to buy his way outta his contract or in-order to help finance the transfer for inter. For a sport that is so against bunging or tapping-up...now I think I am referring to player-agents, ( They have some funny-names for it), it sure is weird how this doesn't come across as third-party involvment in a transaction. Let's see how they get around this one.

Report Offensive CommentIf Barca gives permission, which apparently they have, then there is no problem. The problem is when the owning team doesn't give permission for talks to take place, like in any sport.

Report Offensive CommentI do not believe this rumor. Why would he want to go to Inter where the only playmaker is Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

Report Offensive CommentUnless, Inter hires Mourinho who brings in 'Dinho and Drogba. I can see that happening and would like it.

Report Offensive CommentRonaldinho IS the playmaker. I'm sure they can find a finisher or two for him besides Zlatan.

That would be very interesting to say the least.

Report Offensive CommentJazinho...Thanks for the point. I will cite your knowledge, on this point from now on. I'm always learning. So was it Corinthians, ( correct me if I got the S.American team wrong), that were complaining about Tevez and Mascherano going to West Ham via an agent?

Report Offensive CommentThings often seem a bit complicated when MSI are involved. I wouldn't anticipate such problems with Nike.

Report Offensive CommentLike Jazinho said Ronaldinho is a playmaker. that means if the move was maede, Inter would need a decent finisher to get the pass from Ronaldinho and score, and maybe a defensive midfielder to get the ball from opponents and provide to Ronaldinho. I wouldnt want to have another playmaking type of players playing at the same time, since i saw what happened after Lionel Messi really turned into a monster playmaker.

Report Offensive CommentBarcellona did with Deco-Ronaldinho-Eto'o so inter could do it with Vieira-Ronaldinho-Crespo(or Cruz, Adriano), but i dont see Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho on the field for the same team working well. Even though Zlatan got the size for it, his skillset and mindset is not really that of a finisher.

Report Offensive CommentHe was the best player in the world for a few years, but I think he needs a change of scenery. Maybe he's partying too hard or whatever, but he needs a new environment to get him back up to being one of the top 3-4 players in the world for a few more years. Good move for both clubs.

Report Offensive CommentIf he headed to Milan, he would be sponsored by Addidas and Nike would lose alot of sales while addidas sales would increase obviously.
I thought Inter were intent with Argentines while Milan got all the Brazilians lol. I think Inter need more italians instead of foreigners. But i think he would be very effective at Juve to be honest.
But in the end, he will end up at Milan

Report Offensive Commentif im not mistaken, Inter also is sponsered by Nike. I think Nike is getting into the equation because they think the move would give Ronaldinho more appearance & spot light since he has lost some in Barcelona after 2006 WC. More attention to Ronaldinho, better sale for his signature boot and inter milan gear.
