Donaghy avoids restraining order

Crooked NBA referee Tim Donaghy dodged a restraining order Tuesday when his wife - who had claimed he threatened her and their children - failed to show up in court. Donaghy's lawyer, Edward Sobel, said the ref and his estranged wife, Kim, who are going through a divorce, had settled their differences, the Herald of Bradenton, Fla., reported. Sobel said the Donaghys even shared Easter dinner together. Because Kim Donaghy was a no-show at the hearing and did not send a lawyer to represent her, Florida Judge Peter Dubensky dismissed her request for a restraining order. Kim Donaghy sought an order of protection after a March 14 blowup with her husband, claiming in court papers that he threatened to "knock my...head off my body." "He was enraged, out of control, cursing at me in front of our four children and making threats," Kim Donaghy claimed, adding that he beat their children. Tim Donaghy is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to charges he tipped off gamblers betting on NBA games. He faces up to 25 years in prison.

Way to be a role model, Tim. Good job.

if he gets convicted, a restraining order won't be needed for about 25 years, maybe 15 if he behaves.

Why not just revoke his bail?

Don't worry Tim, where you're going you'll be the wife.
