Mancini in Juve-Roma swap

Posted: Thursday March 27, 2008 08:16AM ET

Juventus and Roma could be set for an intriguing swap deal of Vincenzo Iaquinta for Amantino Mancini, according to Tuttosport. Iaquinta only signed for Juve from Udinese last summer, and despite largely impressing, he has grown frustrated at having to play second-fiddle to the prolific David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero. Mancini on the other hand has been at Roma since 2003, but his contract expires next year, and so far there have been serious problems in coming to an agreement over the salary on a new deal.

Well Isaw Iaquinta on his way out of Juve, but I think that Roma and Mancini will eventually settle on a price for Mancini to stay.

One of the two Juve strikers will be gone soon. He should be patient. But they need a creative force like Mancini i believe

Man, I hope Roma don't do that. I've seen both play quite a bit, and they are both good. But Mancini is better in my opinion. He brings a lot to more to the table than Iaquinta. Either way, they are both good, and maybe Roma would make some money off of it.

its be sad to see him go. anyways, another rumor buzzing around is that gilardino is headed roma

Well Iaquinta is a pure striker while Mancini is a more versitile player to connect the midfield with the striker(s) and if the swap did happen Mancini would benefit from it more since Roma plays with 1 striker anyways Iaquinta may wound up like Saviola did when he left the Barca bench and wound up on the Madrid bench!!!

Who knows Juve may be building its own "Brazilian base" if Mancini wounds up there and rumors of Diego and Gilberto Silva heading to Turin as well that might turn out to be 1 dynamite midfield!!

I dunno about Diego. Werder Bremen is guna want a lot (a lot a lot a lot) of money to let him go. Lots of Euros. They're not just gunna let him leave whenever he wants to.
