i have yet to see all this "potential" that poeple always talk about with Odom. All this time he's been in the league, you would think that it would've shown by now.

i wouldn't take him over Ray and Manu.

More talented and athletically gifted? Yes. Better? No. I'm a huge Laker and Lamar Odom fan, but until he plays with that drive to win night in and night out, I don't but it. He doesn't have the inner quality that makes guys (guys with less ability than him), just take over games. I've said it a thousand times: He has top 5 talent when you look at his size, ball handling, passing, rebounding, scoring ability, etc., but he just hasn't been able to put it all together at this point.

Odom had a 20/20 game the other day (points and rebounds).. there aren't many guys in the league who can give you that

...and Josh Boone had 26 points last night. Whats your point? its about bringing it EVERY night.

This is the same guy that said the Knicks were a playoff team. Enough said. "Better" players are consistent. Odom has a tendency to disappear.

unfortunately Hoffa The Great is right. Odom has the better tools, but he does not seem to "bring it every night" Look at last night's lost against the Bobcats in LA. The whole team dropped the ball (but not in the hoop).
I still love my LAKERS. By the way, I am not a huge Basketball fan, I am definitely a LAKERS fan.

Odom is mostly only effective when playing with the other 2. Ginobli brings it even when Parker or Duncan are out and Ray Allen is still very effective if Garnett or Pierce are out.

Odom shouldn't even be in the conversation when it comes to the third best player on a team. HE SHOULD BE THE SECOND BEST PLAYER THE LAKERS HAVE! Sadly he's not.. he is the third best on the team. I wouldn't take Odom over Manu nor Ray. Over a course of a season, these guys are going to be there. Beat on Manu or Ray all you want but those guys are just going to keep coming at you. Every night. You never know which Odom will show up. And you'd take that over Manu or Ray? In a best of seven you might win 2..

Odom #'s are up since gasol arrived! I'll take Odom as a third star anyday.

Odom is a great complimentary player, he got the skills and tools to be an all-star. But, there's a big but, he lacks consistency and killer instinct. Worst of all, he gets discourage quite often. If he has the urge to be a better player day in day out, he is better than 85% other players.

Odom is one of the best players who never really gets any attention. He is very underrated. This season it is pretty hard to pick any of those guys, they all have made their team so much better.

The biggest problem with Odom is that he has a horrible shooting percentage, i've been told by laker fans that they cringe when he has the ball and he IS NOT A WINNER! I'm calling it now the Lakers won't win the title!! Why? O-D-O-M

His FG% .519, thats not too bad. But I think the Lakers have a very good shot, especially because Bynum and Gasol will return soon.

Charles Barkley is an idiot he always says stuff like this on TNT for shock value. He obviously knows nothing about the game today or else he would be doing something more with his time than T-mobile commercials. Odom is an adequate scoring option but if you want a comprable player that outplays Lamar how about Stephen Jackson. Stephen has a bum wheel and he consistiently shuts down the opposing teams top scorer. I'd have to say that Lamar is better in terms of natural physical gifts but Jack has a killer instinct and a clutch ability I just don't see in Lamar. Lamar would be lucky to mature mentally into a guy like Stephen Jackson.

Barkley is so used to disagree with everyone else, that he even does so, when the case is pretty clear.

Odom has good games.He has stepped it up since Gasol went down.Can he keep it up though when it counts in the playoffs.It's like he still smokes weed sometimes.He is just soo mellow.

I usally dont agree with anything he says but Odom is better than Allen. No way is he better than Ginobili.

Pls check your facts first.

LO's shooting percentage this season is .519. That's even better than Kobe's. He has the best shooting percentage in the current starting 5 of Kobe, Fisher, Turiaf, Radmanovic and LO.
