Gophers going gold for Buckeyes?
Look for the Minnesota football team, under new coach Tim Brewster, to switch from gold to maroon pants for road games this year, and to wear gold pants with gold jerseys for the Ohio State game Sept. 29 at the Metrodome. Minnesota plans to wear maroon pants and maroon jerseys for the Wisconsin game Nov. 17 at the Dome. The Gophers are switching from black shoes to white shoes next season.

You can dress them up nicely, but that won't make them a better team. To have so many different uniforms seems like a waste of money if you ask me.

It would be cool if they were laced with real gold, but then again I am getting sick of all of the "retro-look at me" uniforms. God bless Penn State's uniforms, the Buckeye's "leaves", and Alabama's numbered helmets. Some things should never change.

Why was this even published? Against Michigan Minnesota will wear a strapless black cocktail dress and red, four-inch heels...

I also heard some of the vikings will be dressing down for this game. No matter, Ohio State could beat either one anyways.

Uni-colored uniforms of a dark or gold variety are a BAD idea. I don't mind the maroon shirt idea...but why not pair that up with white pants? They should change their helmets to white as well.

I also heard that at halftime of the Buckeye game their going to have two members of the band (in only gold tops) do a standing 69 outside the visitors locker room...

when reading this, I remember a bout 20 years ago, Kent State (MAC) made a splash by changing uniforms and they were hyped up about the new pabts especially. They went 1-10 that year. Good luck, Minnesota.
