Mendenhall wants Illini transfer

In a January news conference called to announce his decision to enter the NFL draft with a year of eligibility remaining, Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall said he hoped older brother Walter would get a chance to succeed him in the starting lineup. His lobbying didn't work. Illinois started spring practice this week without Walter Mendenhall, who is attempting to transfer to a school where he can use his final year of eligibility. Meanwhile, coach Ron Zook was stocking the roster with younger running backs. Redshirt freshman Troy Pollard, who will miss spring practice recovering from knee surgery, and junior Daniel Dufrene are the leading returnees. Freshman Mikel LeShoure from Champaign Centennial also is getting a look in spring practice.

Well lets see this is a school that is irelevent outside of the Illinois area and a player thet it seems nobody knew existed until now. Why is this a story?

Illinois would kill Alabama

Walter had two attempts for five yards last year. Did he really think he was going to step in and be the starter this year?

Oh and by the way, Alabama hasn't been any good since KR Forrest Gump graduated as the school's valedictorian. And LSU does not rock. LSU is completely irrelevant to the rest of the non-Voodoo practicing, non-alligator eating free world.
