Chelsea still wants Ronaldinho

Chelsea has been linked with a move for Ronaldinho for much of the season and could offer the 28-year-old an escape from his Nou Camp nightmare. In January, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich provisionally agreed to hand Ronaldinho a five-year deal worth $23.2 million a season but the Brazilian decided to stay until at least the end of the season. Ronaldinho, though, may look to take up Ambramovich's offer in the summer given his current form which resulted in his omission from the Brazil squad which faced Sweden in an international friendly at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.

Well Barca's fans want him gone, he wants out, and Im sure Rijkaard does as well. Chelsea's a good team and could easily afford him. Roman's giving the Blues lineup a makeover next season, and Ronaldinho might possibly be the feature. He could really be dangerous in the EPL.

Keeper, your forgetting hes a 2x Golden Boot Winner. This guy maybe be going out of favor and his ego may be bigger than Zidane's bald spot, but he's still an amazing talent. He may be off the score sheet a little more often than in 04, but believe me, he still has the passing control and midfield dominance that would allow him to succeed in England.

I mean, you really think Roman should PASS on one of the best players in the world? I would want him on my team if I had the cash and oppritunity, as well.

His time at Barca is over. But where he will leave is a big question.

He's always showed his admiration for Milan, always asking Kaka about it while on the national team, and i think they would be interested.

Inter have "reportedly" showed interest, and Juve are in need of an attacking force with creative genius, as you can see in the linking to Diego.

Chelsea seem to have already offered him a contract i guess. Arsenal, i dont think so. Liverpool prolly won't waste their limited funds on him. A return to the club he should have originally gone to in United, i doubt it, we have too many players who play his various positions.

Real have said they would never buy him, and i doubt he will head to the Bundesliga with Bayern.

So it's down to Milan, Inter, Juve, and Chelsea

Obviously Roman hasn't learned from his mistakes. There are reasons why people say 'if it aint broke, dont fix it'. When Mourinho found a way to win the league with running rotation with the team that is already flooding with the star and has a prolific scorer in Drogba, what did this guy do? Buy a striker from AC Milan for countless amount of money and force Mourinho to play him. The reality is different from the fantasy league in that even if collect put players with good statistics from all differnet teams over the world, the number wont add up, possibly because they have earned those numbers from different teams playing different style. All im saying is, if Shevchenko scoring goals because everybody on the team passes ball to him or Kaka is not the way it's going to work in Chelsea, moreover EPL, then how is Ronaldinho dribbling to make spaces going to work when you have Joe Cole and Kalou who wants to dribble also and what happens to Lampard if he doesnt get his long distance shots once in a while because Ronaldinho is dribbling? Ronaldinho will still work for other teams who are willing to try but not any of EPL big 4 especially Chelsea which is already right behind MU for the league and hasnt lost at home yet. Save Ava Grant some headache, and dont buy him. or if you do buy him, at least dont come in to locker room and tell Grant to to play him.

I think he's leaning more towards milan for the simple fact that they have quite a few Brazilian players.

"This guy maybe be going out of favor and his ego may be bigger than Zidane's bald spot, but he's still an amazing talent."

Ego? Nah, Ronaldinho may be lazy and unmotivated, but I wouldn't necessarily call him egotistical. Seems like a pretty relaxed guy imo.

March 28, 2008  03:28 PM ET

he's going to milan no matter how much chelsea offers, Kaka and ronaldinho in my opinion seems to fit alot better than any of the other scenarios

March 28, 2008  04:08 PM ET

oof, Kaka and Dinho in the midfield with Sheva and Pato up front? Man that would be nice.

March 28, 2008  04:13 PM ET

he needs to go to Roma.

March 28, 2008  04:19 PM ET

Pato had a great goal against Sweden. That guy is going to be special.

March 28, 2008  04:34 PM ET

Ronaldinho would be better off going to Inter. The EPL might not be the best place for him.

March 28, 2008  04:37 PM ET

To GravityDaemon,

Kaka and RDinho cant even gel well together for Brazil so I know it wouldn't work for Milan!! RDinho would be much better heading to Italy cause the EPL though may not be too rough for him being a former Gaucho, but I do belive its way too fast for him!!

March 28, 2008  05:03 PM ET

I thought he had a deal to go to Inter because Nike was going to help buy out his contract. I don't see him going to AC because of his Nike contract, but thats just me.

March 28, 2008  06:08 PM ET

wait did u just say joe cole??? are you comparing him to ronaldinho lol first of all he would start 2nd it would take the EPL to figure him out so he would have at least 3 great years of killer soccer. joe cole man you rate some people too high!!!

March 28, 2008  07:06 PM ET

hes in the twilight of his career, he hasnt won anything in like 3 or 4 years. If chelsea gets him, where will he play? on the outside? what about Lampard?

March 28, 2008  07:18 PM ET

this means lampard is likely out since ballack is under contract

March 28, 2008  09:21 PM ET

Dinho is 28?

March 29, 2008  01:11 AM ET

Chelsea want him, yeah so what. So does every other club in the world. I hate this rumor crap!
