Grizzlies GM backs Iavaroni

Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace's pre-arranged trip Thursday afternoon had nothing to do with Marc Iavaroni's job status as head coach. In the wake of recent national reports to the contrary, Wallace insisted that the Grizzlies' first-year coach is in no danger of losing his job.

How can a coach be fired who has absolutely no all star caliber players (Rudy Gay needs more time). They just traded Pau Gasol and the Lakers got away with robbery in that trade.

It's not like he's Phil Jackson inheriting a team (from Dell Harris) with Shaq and Kobe and not making the playoffs....

He should be gauged fairly.

I wonder if Iavaroni would give a vote of confidence to Wallace? After all, Wallace stuck him with that (for lack of a better word) team. How many young promising point guards do you need (at the expense of every other position)?

I wasn't very savvy re: pc etiquette when I first signed on to fannation , but it didn't take long for me to learn that posting in all caps is seen as anger by the reader and not appreciated. You might want to take it down a notch.

The dreaded vote of confidence! Iavaroni will be axed back in Phoenix sooner rather than later, I guess.

Of course, there's no reason he *should* be canned. But the Grizz are stupid enough to off him and keep Wallace.

Should just move the Memphis Grizz's to a better city. this team should be in the Eastern Conference anyways
