Both Lopez twins to enter draft
Stanford's 7-foot sophomore twins Brook and Robin Lopez did not take much time to decide their future, announcing Monday, three days after the Cardinal's loss to Texas in the NCAA Tournament, that both would turn pro this year, giving up their final two years of college eligibility. It had been a foregone conclusion that Brook Lopez would turn pro, because he is expected to be among the top five NBA draft picks. He was named to the third team of the Associated Press All-America squad announced Monday. And it had become evident recently that Robin Lopez was likely to turn pro as well after his marked offensive improvement over the past six weeks elevated him to first-round status.

Not so sure why Robin would go but he's a big guy so you suspect that some one will give him a shot in the late first, second round area.

do they expect to be drafted as a set? -- Robin is too slow, and Brook may be as well -- Robin will not make it in the NBA on his own -- he would be well advised to finish school and stick with his plans of illustrating & writing fantasies rather than trying to live one

Robin is not even on the same level as brooke. These guys are more irritating, as far as attitude, than rasheed or kobe. Robin is not. good enough. he'll be worse off than shawn bradley.

What is it with Stanford and twin big men? The Collins boys went to Stanford as well, and they're role players in the league. While that doesn't really have anything to do with how well the Lopez boys will do, it was worth mentioning. These two would be better served playing aother season or two at the college level.

The only reason for this is some moron will pay them crazy money just because they are big. Hey NBA, stop throwing ridiculous money to underclassmen! Your salary cap will never recover & we fans would rather see them play in March Madness than sit on your bench.

LOL. Good cover. The Anderson Varejao lookalike is the better of the two by far.

Pretty sad, this shows how distracted they were against Texas. That nappy headed hippy mother of theirs should have encouraged them to stay in school and focus on their education and competing for the Pac-10 instead of running away to the NBA and NBDL.

i dont think they will make good pros but you cant teach size so some team will take them, brook has more of an up side but they both seem too soft to be banging in the paint in the NBA.

Ignorant comments... I've seen the Lopez twins play live numerous times. Brook will be one of the next great bigs in the NBA. I think Robin would of benifited from another year at Stanford, but he will still make an impact in the NBA.
Wanna talk flops in the NBA.. how about Hansboro or Harangody? Hansboro showed a lot more upside in the elite 8 game they played, if he can shoot the ball from outside he will be a good NBA player, his inside game is trash. The ball goes to him, it's not coming back out.. he gets alomst every call and I don't think ive seen him shoot from inside without flailing like a little boy trying to draw a fowl. Harangody has a weak inside game and shot, though he is very tuff on the glass like Hansboro. Look no further than to what WSU did to both of them in the tournament and our bigs that were gaurding them... no future NBA players from our team.

zY, Weaver could be a 1st round pick this year.
Brooke will be a beast in the league, but Robin definitly could have used 1 more year if not 2 at Stanford.

BAHH, I just typed a huge response and lost it when I signed in :(! Anyway to sum up what I was going to say... I would love to see Weaver go in the first but I have my doubts. If Thomas Kelati didn't make it in the league I have my worries about kyle making it. He doesnt have the shot to play a gaurd and seems to little to be effective in the mid range/ post game. My money is on Baynes going in the 1st next year if he develops a jump shot. He shoots free throws at like 80% so I don't see why he shouldnt be able to?

Be specific zY. Because you disagree, that makes one's comments ignorant? Luckily, they're sevn-feet tall. Both could use a coupe of summers at Pete Newell's Big Man camp. One certainly has a better skill set than the other. However, if matched-up against players similar in size & athleticism, they struggle. You'd better watch that Stanford vs. Texas game again.
