White Sox GM mum on Crede talks

General manager Ken Williams wouldn't address the possibility of reopening negotiations with third baseman Joe Crede, who can become a free agent after this season. "There's no reason to deal with that right now," Williams said. "This is Opening Day. Even if I'm asked that question at the All-Star break, there's still no reason to discuss it. "All we care about now is winning, today and starting every series off with a 'W'. It helps you win series." Thome's two homers marked his 41st multihomer game. He became the first Sox player to hit two homers on Opening Day since Sammy Sosa did so at Baltimore in 1991.

White Sox fans like myself who are still wondering what Fields is doin in the minors... I like Crede but feel Fields gives us a better chance to win now and in the future... unless Crede learns to play second im hopin for a trade soon
