Patriots owner apologizes for Spygate

Posted: Wednesday April 02, 2008 05:35AM ET

In what one member in the room described as a heartfelt speech, Robert Kraft apologized for the Patriots' illegal videotaping procedures that have cast a cloud over the NFL. He spoke of how the actions did not represent what his family was about, and how that affected him because nothing is more important to him than his family's name. Kraft assured those in attendance he would make sure illegal videotaping would never happen again. After Kraft's remarks, Patriots coach Bill Belichick then addressed the room and explained his actions, while also detailing how the team's football operation has been improved so that no such incidents would happen again. At one point, there was applause.

Report Offensive Comment

Oh, here we go.

Report Offensive Comment

So finally they admit they cheated.

Report Offensive Comment

That doesn't get it done.

Kraft and Belichick have put a cloud over the Patriot's heads and their names will go down in infamy as bad guys. Cheaters. Scum.

I'm never going to by a Kraft product again. A Pox on Kraft.

It's ok that they cheated, because at one point, there was applause ......

Report Offensive Comment

wow, there must be something coming that really scares them to just own up to it like that.

They were "spying" in syndicated sports. It isn't like they were eating babies. The rabid Pats fans who act like the Pats are completely innocent are no more silly than those who climb their high horse to condemn the Pats.

The last 10 years or so, it has become en vogue to apologize and accept responsibility. The tactic is, essentially, "well, I apologized... now you must speak of it no more, and forget it ever happened."

The article doesn't state what was said to elicit the applause so you just assume it was the 'cheating' that was applauded. It would have been more informative if FanNation had reported exactly what was said to cause applause to be the response. Assume nothing, it's safer.

Which one of you hit an old lady with a walker in the face and stole her social security check so you could buy drugs?

Where in the article does it say anything about cheating? If you read the Don Banks article, it says Kraft apologized for the dark cloud over the NFL caused by the whole spygate mess. Also Bill Polian praised Kraft for speaking and said the whole league has been much better off since Kraft has become the Pats owner. All you 'haters' should just GET OVER IT!

One, when I was doing a crossword puzzle on a flight, I looked at two answers. I...I feel so, so...dirty!

Report Offensive Comment

Hey King Crimson (appogee)....I see humor here, not hating. Geez, relax!

Report Offensive Comment

Really. I need a breakfast burrito.

Report Offensive Comment

Some humor, some not. And I am relaxed. Just stating my opinion. Is that OK with you?

Report Offensive Comment

Okay with me.......I am defensive in my hatred for the Pats.
