Leinart's partying worries Cards

Matt Leinart's off-the-field activities have been a concern for the Cardinals, who selected him with the 10th overall pick in the 2006 draft. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Tuesday he was "disappointed" in Leinart after Internet photos surfaced of Leinart partying at his Chandler-area home over the weekend. One of the photos showed Leinart holding a beer bong while a woman drank from the other end. "Matt called me Monday morning and we spoke for a while," Whisenhunt said in a statement from the NFL owners meetings in Florida. "I reiterated to him the type of behavior that we expect at all times from our players. He understands that as well as the level of scrutiny that he's under because of who he is. It's being handled internally. I was disappointed but at the same time have no doubts about his commitment to this football team or his ability to lead it."

As long as everybody at the party was of age, I see no problem with this.

Is it legal? Yes. Is the kind of behavior you want to see out of your franchise quarterback in the off season? Absolutely not. It's not a good reflection that he takes his job, making millions, very seriously.

Just who was the person that took the photos and put them up on the Internet, an invited guest? If it was I think Leinart should take a closer look at his guest list before throwing another party at his home.

This guy is a bust

This man isn't a priest, congressman, teacher, etc. If there was a camera at every NFL QBs house, you think this is the worst that would come out of it?

They give millions to guys in their 20's, and are "disappointed" when they act wild.

I wonder if they're "disappointed" by bee stings when they poke at the hive with a stick.

It's nice to see that he's a hands-on father. I'm down w/ the hot tub, but a beer bong? USC is over.

When you're a backup to Kurt Warner, you're done.

Let him have his fun. The Cardinals drafted Mr. Hollywood - what did they expect? Besides, it could have been another kind of bong.

Matt,

E-mail me. I did not get my invitation.

You can't blame the guy for wanting to stay in the college party scene.... college was the high point of his life...

I think he was even hanging out near the lie to the bathroom, trying to pick up a chick.... cuz everyone knows that that is the only sure-fire way to meet a chick before you bang her in your car.

Sorry Matt......you apparently work for your mother hahahaaaaaaaaaaa

Yes you can blame him for that. He is supposed to be a professional now. College is college, he is an adult now.

With ya broward........keep it up as long as you can. When you are 90 and having problems pooping....you will say, "damn I should have partied harder when in my 30's-50's".

Boys will be boys!!!! At least he was just drinking beer instead of doing some thing illegal-like snorting a line-or shooting someone - or robbing some one. Give the kid a break, he does have a life besides football!!!

Exactly, the point... They give large sums of money to very young guys and get surprised because they don't act like sixty year old workaholics. But they love all the press when they hook up with starlets, models etc.

Really jr#88...we are only talking beer here. Good point.

What guy didn't look at that picture and think 'Man, what did this guy do to get a life like that?' -- its easy for the Cardinals to make these politically correct statements now but the fact is that part of the reason they drafted Mr. Hollywood was to put people in the seats & build excitement for their new stadium. To be surprised that a guy making millions is hosting parties with hot women is a little bit hypocritical to me.
