McNabb: Reid won't trade me

Donovan McNabb said yesterday that he has spoken with Eagles head coach Andy Reid about the rumors the team will trade him before this month's draft and that Reid assured him that wasn't the case. McNabb is back in Philadelphia after spending much of the off-season at his home in Arizona. He said that he's been working on his conditioning and that his surgically reconstructed knee is feeling much better than it did during this last season, when the Eagles won their last three games to finish 8-8.

Yes we know....he has alot on his mind and he should, because he likes to speak his mind and he totally has the rights to do just that. He does it well. Surely, he is an above average QB, but he is an injured playa and time is running out on his entire career. I just wonder what his teammates - past and present - really think about him.

and anyone outside Philly does not care til Sept.

mcnabb is better than playing kolb this year. simple as that. let mcnabb finish up his career in philly. considering he's only had one full season with a capable wide-out, mcnabb has played very well. kolb needs another year or two. hope the eagles find don a good wide-out in the draft....someone more than reggie brown.

Wonder what Donnovan's Mommy has to say about that...... give her a few days she'll come out and defend her baby boy. Now if she could protect his blind side as well, or be able to catch a pass, he'd feel better about Mommy to the rescue!!

The Eagles still **** !!!!

April 3, 2008  07:08 AM ET

No, they'll just wait for him to get injured again.

I like McNabb, maybe he would have a better season if he went to a new team...A lot of teams NEED better QB's then they have now!!!

April 3, 2008  07:58 AM ET

Why would they trade him? Even if you built a case that McNabb is not the Second Coming of Unitas, he is still better than all available alternatives.

With what? McNabb? Westbrook? Seems that's all they have and McNabb isn't a given on any Sunday.
