Chicago clubs watching Coco
The two teams who have shown the most consistent interest in Coco Crisp are the Cubs and White Sox, according to a major league source familiar with both teams. Crisp is currently playing center-field for the Sox in a 0-0 tie with the A's here in the fifth inning. The Cubs have been turned back because of what they perceive to be a high price to pay for Crisp and the Sox have never been interested in Jason Marquis. The White Sox may not match up with the Red Sox enough to get a deal done. It doesn't appear the Red Sox are in any hurry to move Crisp and will wait for the right situation.

Crisp has shown himself to be capable of hitting .300 with 16 homers,..... and for a guy who flashes the kind of leather he does in CF, that is plenty acceptable. Still I'm sorry about the conflict with Jacoby,...... You could confidently argue that Ramirez, Ellsbury, Crisp and Drew are the best 4-man outfield of any team in the majors,....Lots of weapons,...Manny's hitting and power,... Jacoby's blinding speed,... Coco's flawless fielding,..and we'll see if Drew rebounds offensively, though he is still one of the best on defense. and it is fair for Crisp to want to play every day. Tough spot. Glad I'm not Tito.

Please. Not the White Sox.
Dispite his offensive shortcomings, I really like Crisp. I'd hate to see him in one of those dirty uniforms.

As a Sox fan, I'd love it if Coco stayed in Boston. Keep in mind the dropoff the Indians had a couple of years ago when they traded Coco to Boston. He's a super outfielder, although he's probably a better hitter than what he's shown in Boston. The Cubs especially could use him in center. Hold out, Theo, get a good deal or keep him!

if the red sox are smart they keep a verteran behind the youngster in center...he IS a phenom...for a lack of better words at the moment...
i would say if the cubs want him, you gotta give up some good pitching in return...not too much though...maybe a sean marshall, and a billy petrick.....and ill throw in newly signed reed johnson.....for coco
for the sox though...it doesnt seem like trading crede is the best idea in the world but maybe if your still willing to trade him...regardless...trade him for coco straight up

I think the Angels with Matthews Jr., Guerrero, Anderson and Hunter would have something to say about that.

These threads are getting rediculous. Keep it under wraps until the Cubs actually pull the trigger and make a trade. It's also early in the season, and we'll see how things pan out.
