Phillies think Helms tradeable

The Phillies designated Wes Helms for assignment to make room for righthander Rudy Seanez on the 25-man roster. The Phillies have 10 days to rid themselves of Helms' contract. If a team claims Helms off waivers, it will be responsible for his $2.15 million salary, plus his $750,000 buyout of a 2009 club option. Helms already has cleared waivers once, so he seems likely to do so again because interested teams would like the Phillies to pick up a portion of his contract. The Phils also can trade him. If they can't, they eventually must release him. Teams showed little interest during spring training, but the Phils believe they can trade Helms this time.

The TRUTH has learned that the Dodgers will throw in Larry Bowa for Wes Helms. Phillies responded saying,

" We put up with that jackass for 30 years, now its your turn"

That may be one of the most disturbing, yet intriguing statements I have ever read on here...

Helms is a stiff, that's why the Braves traded him for a fat tub of goo reliever.... who was later run out of town & who's name is no longer spoken in the city of Atlanta.

Why Helms has a $2M salary is the big mystery here. While he hits the occasional homerun, he strikes out most of the time & is not good in the field either. The Braves traded him for a fat tub of goo reliever who was run out of town & who's name can never be spoken in Atlanta..... and it was still a good trade for the Braves!

isn't funny how they pay him that much money, but refuse to give Hamels $250,000 in salary .. & how they took ryan howard to arbitration for $3 mil .............
