Like many major-league players, Carlos Zambrano likes to get amped up for a game with coffee and energy drinks. But after Zambrano suffered forearm cramps again in his Opening Day start, the Cubs medical staff has asked the club's ace to alter his pregame habits to cut down on his caffeine, which is a diuretic, drink more fluids and increase his potassium level.

As hot-headed and off the wall as Big Z is anyway, I think that the last thing he needs and a pot of coffee and a 4-pack or RedBull before the game. It's no wonder he beans so many batters!

I have spinal stenosis and a ruptured disc. The last back surgery in 04' they opened the spinal cord for the stenosis. This one - two days ago - they repeated the 04' procedure and removed a ruptured disc. Pretty amazing though it was outpatient surgery !!! Thanks for asking.

pitchers do a ton of conditioning work. how r they so fat???

April 4, 2008  06:11 AM ET

They are so fat because, they throw with their fat legs. (I.E.: CC, Clemens, Zambranio, etc.) But I do admire a good butt on college girls softball team's players, that is. I think those girls are in better shape then some of our MLB pitchers. The blond who pitched for USC, last year, HOT and a great athlete. Very appealing, she threw strikes with good movement....

Without Red Bull sharpening his aim, Edmunds will probably be feel a lot safer at the plate.
