Yanks-Rays feud still simmering

Ian Kennedy was in the minority when it came to any lingering bad blood between the Rays and Yankees surfacing when they open a four-game series at Yankee Stadium tonight. Though most Yankees who were asked if there was a chance for the spring training feud to reignite said they didn't think that was going to happen, tonight's starter left the door ajar.

This is a top-5 baseball story? Because one young pitcher DIDN'T say that the issue WASN'T over?

April 4, 2008  07:34 AM ET

if there is save it for Sunday so I can watch it in person

April 4, 2008  07:34 AM ET

C'mon, guys....baseball is back. Do better than this.

April 4, 2008  07:45 AM ET

Once again the media trying to stir things up and keep the fued going when there really isn't anything there.

April 4, 2008  08:09 AM ET

Go Rays

April 4, 2008  08:27 AM ET

What a load of you know what. The Rays have a good young team, and can beat anyone at any given time, like many oterh mjor league teams, So opposing teams can't lay back. But to instigate a young pitcher with a question like that, come on NY Post quick being a rag..

Tony:

The POST knows nothing else...

What a bunch of little babys that we have now playing baseball. mommy he sled into me now I am going to beat him up. I will tell these little babys that are playing this game now . Grow up the players from the past would eat you alive. They knew how to play the game ,they took their bumps and gave they out also ,it was part of the game. You play hard all the time.

April 4, 2008  08:57 AM ET

If Im a young poitcher, I want the other team to think its possible I might put one in their ear... even if I have no intention of doing so.

April 4, 2008  08:59 AM ET

I shall only be satisfied if another bench clearing brawl ensues.,,

April 4, 2008  08:59 AM ET

... if not I will also be satisfied

This is like a WWF story script. Trying to 'build' a rivalry to sell more tix or something. Let it go, and play ball.

April 4, 2008  09:39 AM ET

Seriously must be a slow news day at the Post (ie- no anti-Arod news worth printing) so they need to create a fake rivalry between the Yankees and the Rays. And as mets4life stated if I'm Kennedy I want them to think chin music could happen at any time because it'll keep hitters from hanging over the plate. I just hope the umpires don't issue warnings right off the bat and then someone gets ejected for an inside pitch. To take away the inside part of the plate from a pitcher is like neutering a dog.

Ian Kennedy is going to smash Jonny Gomes over the head with a steel chair when the ump is distracted

April 4, 2008  09:49 AM ET

METS4LIFE- Jeter will probably distract the umpire or bump into him causing him to stay knocked out for 5 minutes while Knenedy hits Gomes with the steel chair

April 4, 2008  09:51 AM ET

Why is this young pitcher opened his mouth? What is he going to do? Hit somebody? Now that he talked the MLB is going to watch out and take the appropriate action.

ITS PANDEMONIUM AT YANKEE STADIUM!!!!!

April 4, 2008  09:55 AM ET

I wonder what Jose Canseco thinks about this. Can we please get him to weigh in on this with a new book, maybe,
"Yankees/Rays, (and what things I think A-job might have done to my wife during that affair)."
