Bengals' Henry 'one man crime wave'?
After missing eight games last season while suspended by the league, Chris Henry came back to Cincinnati. For a time, his life seemed tame. That ended in one whirlwind week. First, he appeared in court to pay a $149 fine for driving with expired license tags. Then, an avalanche hit the wide receiver, leaving Henry in jail by Thursday and causing the Bengals finally to cut him loose. On Monday night, a University of Cincinnati student told police Henry punched him in the head and destroyed a window in his car by throwing a beer bottle at it. Days later, a warrant for Henry's arrest was sent out. Henry wore a navy blue-and-white workout suit when he stood before a judge in Hamilton County Municipal Court Thursday to face charges of assault and criminal damaging from the Monday night incident. Henry pleaded not guilty. Judge Bernie Bouchard ordered him jailed on $51,000 bond. "You've kind of become a one-man crime wave," Bouchard said.

I haven't seen the full list of crimes in the "crime wave," but so far he's done nothing I didn't do more of when I was his age. NO TAGS??? OMG!!! Punched a dude at a bar??? Get outta here!
I look back on all the tomcatting I did from 18-24, and realize that I was only arrested two or three times, none of which went past the arraignments. If I had been a wealthy celebrity sports star, I suppose it'd have made headlines and elicited mucho fines and trials.
If the NFL wants players without warts, they should probably hire only players over 30. Mind you, I am talking about disorderly things or things like no tags or speeding. Selling crack to schoolkids is a different story...

It would seem the Bengals off season program is underway. iSince it is a voluntary program, i wonder if the players that were not at the club that night will be punished.

Blut, you should probably check out his record.
He pled guilty to supplying alcohol to minors as well as carrying a concealed weapon (gun) and firearm assault..
not to mention failed drug tests, assaults etc..
Goodell told him , one more strike you're done for good.
It appears this is his "strike"

This guy has had more chances to become a man than he deseerved.. Glad Cincy got rid of him and I hope other teams aren't stupid enough to go after him.. Let him sit out a year or so and he will figure out how much he lost for just being a jerk!!!!!

Did both Chris Henry & PacMan play for R-Rod at West VA? I figured we had A-Rod and the other Rod, why not R-Rod?

You have to wonder about the serious personality flaw. What is it? Why does he purposely torpedo his career? What makes people so self destructive.

Well, the giving of alcohol to minors is ugly when a 45-year-old gives it to a 12-year old, but it is a different story when a guy in his early 20's gives it to people in their late teens. Seems to be an opportunistic bit of hypocrisy to bust him for the common "beer at a party" thing.
The assault charges, though, are what I am talking about. I was in dozens of fights back in the day, as were most guys my age. Every single one of them COULD have resulted in an assault charge. The only difference between me getting into fights as a 20-something and him is that I was a nonentity who didn't get arrested. In his case, get gets busted for a punch. Hell, my peers and I used to pummel each other.
Don't get me started on failed drug tests. I couldn't care less if the guy smoked a pound of Congolese Black every night. Actually, I'd be pretty impressed...
The gun things, I agree, are more serious. But it seems pretty common among the younger guys today, right?

One issue is that ESPN and other news channels only talk about the negatives of athelets. The large majority are upstanding citizens, but when all you hear about is the bad ones you actually think they are the majority. The reason they do this is because we the veiwers tune in tto watch the car crash or the accident, or the shooting. They track what we watch and what get's ratings and tha is what they give us, supply and demand. If we wanted to see the charities, the boys and girls club meetings, etc they would show that. Fact is they are showing what we are telling them we want to see. We need to stop saying we are sick of seeing this stuff, yet these things always have the most comments and the spots always have teh highest ratings.

what a complete moron. he does what most of us can only dream of doing (well, he USED to do it anyway), and he goes out and risks it all by doing the stupid sh&t he has done for the past year or more. i work as a corrections officer at a state prison in pennsylvania, and prior to that i worked at a juvienile facility. some of the inmates where i work now, i put through boot camp a few years back. i guess it just goes to show you that some people think crime is a "career".
