The Washington Redskins' participation in the NFL's Hall of Fame weekend and the return of former Redskins assistant coach Gregg Williams highlight the team's partial preseason schedule released yesterday. Washington will open exhibition play in the Hall of Fame game against the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio, with kickoff scheduled at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast by NBC. Former Redskins Darrell Green and Art Monk are among this year's Hall of Fame inductees.

Wow, after getting dissed by Snyder by his hiring of Zorn, I'm surprised Wiliams didn't tell that organization to get bent.

On another note, hearty congratulations to Art Monk and Darrell Green from a Dallas Cowboy fan. Two of the NFL's greatest players and, more importantly these days, greatest ambassadors. If only the kids coming in today would look to guys like this as role models. They gave Dallas many headaches but we wouldn't have had it any other way.

You would of thought they would have put up a split picture of Monk and Green though.

April 5, 2008  12:46 PM ET

Art Monk has been denied for too many years. In typical Art Monk fashion, he stated that he didn't mind being denied all of those years because now, he gets to go in to the HOF with one of his best friends.

I'm sure Williams was upset not getting the head coach gig, but I'm sure the clause in his contract saying if he wasn't made Gibbs successor then he would get a 7 figure compensation. I would have liked to seen Snyder try and keep Williams as the DC, but I guess Williams and Snyder/Cerrato couldn't exist together without Gibbs in the middle. Don't be surprised if Jacksonville wins the AFC South this season with Williams defense leading the way.

Also HOF voting is a joke, it took Monk 9 years to get in? Come on, when he retired he set records for most catches in a season (106), all time receptions leader (940), and most consecutive games with a reception (183), and he did all of this on a team that was run oriented. He was also a main part to the Skins 3 Super Bowl wins. How Michael "Cocaine" Irvin got into the Hall before Monk still remains a mystery to me.

What is HTTR?

And, as a Cowboy fan, I completely agree with the last line of your entry bushwack. Irvin is an embarrassment to Dallas (just my opinion). Even helping get the rings doesn't make him any better in my eyes. Granted, I yelled and cheered when he caught those passess and TDs so I guess that makes me some what of a hypocrite. HOF is a joke these days. It all started with LT.

April 5, 2008  01:04 PM ET

Bushwhack, I'VE made that line for years. Going in WITH Art is fine; going in BEFORE Art ain't fine.
But he's IN now, so next comes Russ Grimm and the REST of the 1st Gibbs "regime"-era Skins. I ain't stopping...

April 5, 2008  02:01 PM ET

HTTR stands for Hail to the Redskins!

Hopefully Grimm gets in next year, also Joe Jacoby needs to be in the HOF as well. The best offensive line ever, The Hogs, and not one lineman in the HOF, which is another joke.

April 5, 2008  02:12 PM ET

Ah. That darn song. A really good friend of mine is a Redskin fan and he sings it all the time when we're together. Of course, being a Cowboy fan I can only counter with all our championships, HOF inductees, etc, etc, ad nausea. We really don't have a song except for that Toby Keith ballad "Should Have Been A Cowboy!" What we do have, however, is the one of the most recognizable structures in the modern world. Why it should rank as the Eighth Wonder of the World. LOL! Sad to say that's going away too. At least I got to go there a few times. I can say I say Aikman, Smith, Johnston, Sanders, etc. play in person. And Romo two years ago. And Peyton Manning for that matter.

April 5, 2008  02:13 PM ET

Wow, I just read the rest of your statement and that is a travesty. Grimm and Jacoby not in the hall. Wow.

April 5, 2008  02:14 PM ET

One final PS bushwack. My son's girlfriend and the mother to my next grandson, is a Redskin fan. My son, of course, is a Cowboys fan. They've both decided no fan stuff from either team. Smart kids.

Nicely said. It was a hell of a rivalry...wish I had been old enough at the time to appreciate those days more.

As much as Cowboy & Redskin fans hate each other, it's nice to hear some admiration from you guy's. I hate you all & here's another reason for us to hate you.

This is what a stadium probably looks like in heaven.

April 5, 2008  04:43 PM ET

Hahahahahaha...did you see the score in the video? Cowboys 21 Redskins 7. Hahahaha. Damn Jerry. Pull no punches son.

We wer told here in the Dallas that God himself approved of the design. Afterall, he does have to watch his favorite team! LOL!!

April 5, 2008  04:46 PM ET

What all of us are going to hate is that it most likely won't be called Texas Stadium anymore. We were one of the last holdouts. Just like when you guys lost RFK.

The first words out of my mouth after going to the website were Oh My G*O*D and Holy S*IT. No wonder the NFL is in debt up to and including its eyeballs. What a magnificent stadium.

April 5, 2008  06:03 PM ET

Yeah, that's a beautiful design...

April 5, 2008  06:36 PM ET

Nice to see the appreciation from other Cowboys fans for some of the sports top athletes. As a Cowboys fan, of course I HATE the Redskins, but, I appreciate their HOF athletes, especially their great spokesmen like Green and Monk. Probably much like a Redskins fan would hate the 'Boys', but respect guys like Stauback, Garrison, Aikman and Emmit to name a few. When Sean Taylor was struck down, at no point was I happy for the team loss, I would rather see Dallas play the best that each team has to offer. Very sad for you 'Skins' fans 'bout Taylor, but still I'm looking forward to seein' my 'Boys' discipline you on Sundays.

Denver got it as right as you can get it these days. Keep the "Mile High" or in this case "Texas Stadium" but add the corporate name too it. The stadium looks amazing and I can't wait go see a Skins/Boys game there.

Not many times I can publicly say good things about cowboy players. The question you have to ask yourself is would you want those guys on your team? Guys like Aikman and Emmitt absolutely I would have loved to see them the in the Burgundy and Black (like the zorn reference). Irvin... my mother says if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything.

I'll be in Canton this year... how can a die hard Redskins fan not be? It's going to be a great day! Amazing how long it took for Art Monk but now it's twice as nice. Hail to the Redskins!

April 5, 2008  08:47 PM ET

Do you skins fans really buy into zorn being the guy that will take you all the way ? or this the perfect "desperate to be a head coach" guy that D.S. can finally influence into allowing him to coach the team by proxy and make personel decisions that no establised or head strong HC would allow ?

April 5, 2008  09:13 PM ET

Of course some dumbbassss Giants fan comes on here and ruins what has been a good respectful post between the 2 best teams in the NFC East last season. Lets be honest giantfbl, your Giants owe your entire season to Gibbs and his 2nd half "play not to lose" play calling when we dominated you all in the 1st half. If Gibbs doesn't get soft, we blow you all and the Giants are 0-3, your season is over and Coughlin is fired by week 7? Don't worry about Zorn being the head coach; yes, the process Snyder did was very much embarrassing, but it looks like he hired a smart, intelligent coach with a lot to prove.

Also, I say by week 5 when the Giants are 1-4 or 2-3 you all will be calling for Coughlin's head on a silver platter. There's a reason why the Giants had a losing season at home this past year, because their fans are garbage and boo their own team at home constantly. I would bet that the Giants would make the playoffs again this year if they played only road games, but they have to play 8 games in front of you pathetic douuchees, and there's no way they are winning 7 out of 8 road games this year.

On another note, that new stadium in Dallas is absolutely ridiculous. I'm sure you Cowboys fans will be paying a handsome price for tickets to watch a game in that monster stadium.
