Artest: Nuggets would be better with me

Sacramento forward Ron Artest, who faces the Nuggets on Saturday for the first time since they considered acquiring him in February, said the Nuggets would be higher in the standings if he were with them. "(If) God put me in Denver, it's no question they would be a better team," Artest wrote in an e-mail Friday. But Artest wrote "the Kings didn't want to trade (him), so it was impossible for me to be a Nugget." But he joked, "The only way I was coming to Denver is if (forward Carmelo Anthony) was in the deal."

Artest + Rebuilding Kings team = Disaster. He should be traded over the offseason to a team where is he is not the centerpiece but rather a supporting player. When he is the centerpiece, he seems to get in the most trouble.

Artest has managed to stay out of trouble for awhile now--but you still expect him to slap a cheerleader at any time.

Relax Ron, you'll be in New York soon enough bringing defense back.

April 5, 2008  12:32 PM ET

The Nuggets made the right choice not to trade Linas Kleiza for Ron Artest. It seems that they will have both next year.

Dear Ron - I "artest" to all your talents from the neck down.

April 5, 2008  01:09 PM ET

HE IS RIGHT. THEY WOULD BE BETTER IF THEY HAD TRADED FOR HIM BUT NOT AT THE EXPENCE OF CARMELO.

I didn't know God was an NBA executive.

When does a healthy self-esteem become arrogance?

April 5, 2008  03:05 PM ET

artest should go to the suns next season for the mid-level. He would fit right in with the suns and either come off the bench or start over hill, but what ever he does it doesn't matter since he'll still get the minutes. He would improve the suns defence by a lot and then help us win our first or second championship.

Shut up and play for the team that's paying you.

April 5, 2008  07:26 PM ET

The NBA would be better without you.

I'm sorry to tell you New York fans, Donnie Walsh wouldn't trade the water boy for Artest.
