The Timberwolves have been focusing on Memphis freshman guard Derrick Rose, should they end up with the No. 1 overall pick in June's NBA draft, since the start of the season.

It's Hot!

It's Not!

Makes sense. But what if they end up with three or four? Do you take Mayo then? I hope they get one of these two exciting players and not Brook Lopez. And if they draft a guard they will basically have a roster full of them.

big risk could be big reward! riskier than beasly

He should top a lot of team's draft lists. I'm not a T-Wolves fan but if they pick Rose what does that say about McCants and Foye?

Hova,

McCants is a role player at best. Foye will have to become the backup PG. This kid Rose is the real deal.

Report Offensive Comment

Rose and Al Jefferson could be nice pieces to build a team around.

Report Offensive Comment

I like this kid, but how many fricken guards do the Wolves need, seriously! I guess Fourth Quarter Foye will be just that.

Report Offensive Comment

If Miami gets a chance at this guy, they'll be nuts not to take him. They probably need him more than anyone come next season.

Report Offensive Comment

no way is he riskier than Beasley. Rose is the closest to a sure-thing in the draft.

Report Offensive Comment

Do the wolves really need another PG?

Report Offensive Comment

The Wolves would be fine if they take PG Rose or SG Mayo

Foye Telfair
Mayo McCants

or
Rose Telfair
Foye McCants

or
Gomes Snyder Brewer
Jefferson Richard
Lopez Smith

My analysis: I fear if they land Rose, they would be undersized with Foye at guard but then again Rose is still great on offense on defense. It would be worth it if he is the next Williams or Paul. I think if they decide on Rose, they should draft Beasley and trade down but either of them are safe picks. I think if Rose or Beasley had the choice, they would much rather play in Minnesota or Seattle than Miami, Memphis, or New York.

Rose is heading to NY-
- my conspiracy theory opinion says that Stern made a deal with Walsh that if he took the NY job, he would get the #1 pick.

Report Offensive Comment

Rose to New York makes a lot more sense than Rose to Miami. The Heat need BIGS. With the right personnel, they can play D Wade at the point.

Report Offensive Comment

Minnesota is pretty lucky, they have 2 very good second round draft picks. One is Miami's, and one is their own. If the season ended today, Miami's pick could be 31-34, while Minnesota's could be 31-36. Those are very high draft picks and I hope they don't trade them.

who saw Rose play D last night on that last shot.....could've fouled that guy...
wont matter where he goes.....watch the Lakers

Report Offensive Comment

I hope Brandon Rush is available in the early second round, the Wolves could use a guy like him

Report Offensive Comment

If they pick up Rose, Foye is trade bait.

Report Offensive Comment

If the Wolves got Brooke Lopez, a front-court with Big Al and Lopez is pretty solid.

Report Offensive Comment

I agree with the NY conspiracy theory. There is no doubt in my mind NY wont get the first pick. The NBA needs NY to be relevant.

And Rose is no where near as risky as Beasley. Watching the post game interviews with Memphis, Rose looked and acted like a professional, he's either well coached (not Calipari coached, agent coached) or he's that mature. CDR on the other hand looked and played like a malcontent whiner, his attitude at the press conference attests to what he'll act like when things don't go his way.

Report Offensive Comment

Rose is hard to judge being that he played on a team with more talent than Beasley. There is no question that Beasley carried Kansas State all season. I still think it will be Beasley but it definitely could be Rose after the tournament that he had.

CDR did look mad at the press conference last night. But I think you have to let that slide alittle. He's lost 2 years in a row and realized that this team's run is done. Rose was going to be a one year player no matter what. I'm not saying losing didn't hurt Rose, but he knew he was gonna be either #1 or #2 in the draft for awhile.
