While reiterating that he's "happy" with his decision to retire, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre said in a recent interview that he might heed the call, should the team need him if starter Aaron Rodgers is injured. "It would be hard to pass up, I guess," Favre told the Biloxi (Miss.) Sun-Herald in an interview posted on its web site Tuesday.

Ah boy....here we go!

wow farve. I really hope Rodgers puts up Manning numbers next season.

I'm in two minds about this, I love Favre but I fear a really bad ending to his career if he comes back. On the other hand, if Rodgers could play 8 games then Favre could come back fresh, it might mean he won't bust in the playoffs. http://ihos.wordpress.com/2008/03/04/brett-favre/

And so it begins

April 9, 2008  07:25 AM ET

Do the world a favor.....stay retired!

Where's Aaron's backup? How does he feel about this? What does the Packer organization think about this? Is this what happens to retirees who aren't old enough to join AARP? Get another hobby Brett.

At_Home@Wrigley, I love your 'sniper kitty' avatar.

"Do the world a favor... stay retired!"

He is... read the story. He was asked a question and answered it honestly. Better post would have been "Do the world a favor... ask better questions".

Why thank you, lady P!

April 9, 2008  07:45 AM ET

The media has been doing this with Favre ever since the idea of retirement crossed anyone's mind. They do this on purpose. It's not about reporting the truth to the public. It's all about how much you can twist the truth without making it a complete lie to sell more newspapers, magazines, web hits, etc.

April 9, 2008  07:52 AM ET

He said "i guess", it sounds like the interviewer asked if he would come back if Aaron Rodgers was injured and the team needed a starting quarterback. I don't think he would come out and say that on his own.

April 9, 2008  07:54 AM ET

Here we go again

April 9, 2008  07:56 AM ET

Oh nooooooooooo- We don't want another Jordan.. If you retire--stay retired!!!!!

April 9, 2008  07:57 AM ET

This isn't the media's fault. It's Favre's fault. Why didn't he just say, "No!"?

Because he can't bear the thought of being out of the spotlight, and has this fantasy of the fans begging him to come back one more time..."BRETT...BRETT...BRETT...."

Time to get your self-respect somewhere else, Brett. Love you, but leave.

The wierd thing would be the Packers make the super bowl and rodgers gets injured (pls god no) And plus favre should just stay retired! No point in coming back. I mean this season Rodgers will be like Favre just short passes. And if Favre came back I think rodgers would kill himself no joke.

April 9, 2008  08:13 AM ET

The neverending story.

April 9, 2008  08:17 AM ET

Instead of his answer, Favre should have just walked up to Rodger's backup and kicked him directly in the nads. No need to castrate him through the media...

April 9, 2008  08:18 AM ET

and yeah I mean our backup quarterback is Craig Nall! Who the hell is that?

April 9, 2008  08:21 AM ET

So is the state of Wisconsin calling for Aaron Rodger's leg to be broken?

April 9, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Boy, you need to keep your retired tail down there in the Redneck Riveria where it belongs!

April 9, 2008  08:41 AM ET

Craig nall used to be a reciever in college, i think
