lol. The Eagles need to find McNabb a Big playmaker. I think WR Devin Thomas from MSU is a perfect fit. Just watching his game clips, this guy is a beast. He had 6 catches the season before, but with a new QB, HC Thomas showed his true abilities.

I'm checking them out, I'm checking them out, I've got it figured out, I am the one that's got it figured out.

There's some good points, bad points, but it all works out. I'm just a little freaked out.

For all of the information about the eagles on t&r I am begining to think that there is a nasty, good for nothing, drunkin, guido lookin, gold chain wearing eagles fan working at SI.

The Eagles have a reputation for making good draft picks. A playmaker at WR is a definite need. Will be interesting to see how this turns out.

The Eagles have a good habit of finding very good players in the later rounds....Their 1st & 2nd round draft pick record isn't a very good one.....

1999 - Donovan McNabb (very good career, fans seems to want him out)
2000 - Corey Simon (solid career with Eagles, injuries shut him down for good)
- Todd Pinkston (never became a big-time receiver; too thin too take the punishment)
- Bobbie Williams (played exactly ONE game in 3 years)
2001 - Freddie Mitchell (BUST)
- Quinton Caver (Who?)
2002 - Was the exceptional year for drafting. Sheppard, Michael Lewis, Brian Westbrook, Sheldon Brown, even Raheem Brock (who played better when he got to Indy)
2003 - Jerome McDougle (bust)
- L.J. Smith (still waiting for the breakout season.)
2004 - Shawn Andrews (excellent pick)
- Matt Ware (couldn't get on the field. Had one good play. Return a blocked field goal attempt for a TD.)
2005 - Mike Patterson (very good pick)
- Reggie Brown (will this be the year he turns the corner?)
2006 - Broderick Bunkley (looks like a real player after last season)
- Winston Justice (can we forget the 12 sack game against NYG?)
- Omar Gaither (a steal in the 5th round)
2007 - Jury is still out. Bradley & Celek are looking like real players....

All in all the Eagles don't have a very good track record for 1st or 2nd rounders....Hopefully things will change....

The Eagles have already invested alot in two non #1 receivers in Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown. I won't even mention the franchise tag placed on L.J. Smith, but I guess I did. Why invest in another undersized player, Desean Jackson, who has a great chance of getting injured while getting hit goin over the middle in the NFL. They better save their time and trade for a proven unhappy receiver, because the strategy has worked well in the past for most teams. Or they can do something dumb which i wouldnt mind. Giants fan. check the ring out.

DeSean Jackson is a Devin Hester-like player who can break big ones with speed and moves. He is a proto-type small receiver, but a playmaker. If he respects his surroundings and works hard, he could be a great pickup for a team needing a playmaker. And exciting. I am thinking TB.

Jackson makes more sense than Thomas for both teams. He has the capability to be a great punt/kick returner. The only knock on him is his weight which could make him more susceptible to injuries.
All in all I think he will be a better pick up than Ted Ginn was last year. Jackson should make a better overall receiver.

I think Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown is a pretty decent 1-2 punch. I think the problem with the Eagles was inconsistency from Donavan Mcnabb coming back from injury. If Mcnabb is healthy for an entire season and plays up to his potential those 2 guys could both be 1000 yard receivers. Plus Westbrook is a great receiver out of the backfield. I don't think they are as desperate at WO as people think. Yes it would be great to have a player the caliber of Moss or TO but those types of players don't grow on trees. Not sure how impactful any of these receivers in the draft might be. I think they should get the top running back available in the draft so they can have a better 1-2 punch and keep Westbrook as healthy as possible. Just my take. They can probably get a quality reciever in a later round.

I disagree. They aren't great at linebacker but they have some serviceable guys and can get some others in a fairly deep draft at that position. Offensive line particularly is a weaker spot than linebacker for the Eagles.

the eagles also have a storied history of not winning the big one
