After absorbing a Jason Terry knee early in Sunday's loss to Dallas, Suns center Shaquille O'Neal sat out Tuesday night's game with the Grizzlies in Memphis with a right hip bruise. The Suns began their final set of back-to-back games Tuesday, and Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said the hope is that O'Neal will be able to play in today's game in San Antonio against the Spurs after resting Tuesday.

I'm sure those alleged miracle doctors that work for the Suns will have him all fixed up. He'll be feeling like 20 year-old again in no time.

He was playing against the Grizzles. I'm sure if it was a top team, he would have been out there.

Why risk Shaq against the Grizzlies? He'll be fine. The Sun acquired Shaq for the playoffs.

Funny thing, how many titles have you won since he left?

April 9, 2008  10:25 AM ET

Yeah, they acquired him for the playoffs and hopefully they play better in the playoffs ro they will be out in the first round. Trading for Shaq was the worst move this year.

His wife lifted millions...sorry for the faux pau...

If you think that the shaq trade was the worst move of the year I present to you 3 points.

1) Marion was opting out anyway after the year.
2) Shaq and Nash each have contracts expiring the same year LeBron and Yao do.
3) The Dallas Mavericks

April 9, 2008  11:55 AM ET

Hurt again? Oh really? Tell me when I decide to care.

April 9, 2008  12:28 PM ET

Shaq hows your BIG TOE....the big injury.....

April 9, 2008  12:42 PM ET

It's just Mike D'Antoni playing end of season [mind] games. They didn't need Shaq to play the Grizzlies so they made it look like an injury sidelined him. Now he'll gimp into the Alamodome to try and make the Spurs feel confident that the Diesel will be no threat.

If the playoffs started today, the Suns would be playing the Lakers, so, they're desperately trying to move into a top four playoff spot to avoid that!

April 9, 2008  01:19 PM ET

FSU, you do make a good point about the Mavs. Whoo cares if Marion wa sopting out. They are paying Shaq $20 mill. I think that's a big much for a guy contributing what he is. I'd take Marion in a hearbeat over Shaq. As far as Shaq and Nash's contracts expiring at the same time if they hadn't traded for Shaq they wouldn't have to worry about his huge contract to begin with.

April 9, 2008  02:02 PM ET

Jason, i cant agree with you there. If they keep Marion, they have no shot this year in the playoffs to get further. Then they let Marion walk out the door and get absolutely nothing in return. I'm not saying they will get to the finals with shaq but its probably a better chance than with Marion.

They now have shaq who sells tickets if nothing else and $32 million coming off the cap in probably the best free agent class in history in 2 years.

The trade was a good move especially if the suns can eek out a finals appearance in the remaining 2 years and then they will be poised for the best cap situation in the NBA.
