Agents sent players to steroid doc

Player agents in Major League Baseball referred clients to a doctor in California who illegally wrote prescriptions for performance-enhancing drugs, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday by federal authorities. The indictment was not the first time Dr. Ramon Scruggs had been tied to distributing performance-enhancing drugs to baseball players. In the Mitchell report, Troy Glaus of the Cardinals and Scott Schoeneweis of the Mets were cited for receiving steroids after Scruggs had written them prescriptions.

Man these boys are all on steroids. Nothing is stopping them, so they do it. People smoke pot and crack with the fear of losing their jobs and the laws also - but does it stop them......No. Let's be real. It most likley feels goods. So they want it and need it, so they will lie and do the things that most people that - do drugs in their own free personal time.

I knew it! It's not the players faults at all! It's the agents faults! Those pesky agents set those players up, sending them to docs who would give the scrips for PED's. Cause when my friend tells me that I have to go see 'this doc' and he writes me a script for Vicodin when I don't need it, and I slam em down like a handfull of skittles, then it's my friends fault, right? It's not my fault for accepting the drugs that I don't need, right?

Everybodys Guilty in the MLB! Test 'em, find 'em, send 'em home!

Dr Scruggs is an excellent physician

Courtesy of his fine work I am now 8 feet tall, wear a size 22 shoe and can beat Carl Eller in a MMA fight....

I can't wait to get the set of gorilla gonads he has ordered for me.

Be afraid ladies, be very afraid........

Dear Dr. Scruggs, please send Scott Schoeneweis a refill for his prescription

April 10, 2008  08:38 AM ET

Gagne could use a refill as well...

April 10, 2008  09:46 AM ET

Dear Scruggs MD,
Please juice up my client, He is in his contract year and I sure could use a new summer house or baubbe to show off down at the club.

I wonder if Pujols got some roids from Glaus?

Supply and Demand!!! Get rid of the Demand and this all goes away.

I am so tired of all the whining.

I want my team to win. If players want to cheat to win- I am all for it.
I truly don't care if they choose to poison themselves in the long run, as long as they are effective on the field, so be it.

We are a gluttonous/hypocritical society. We got governors buying hookers, other govenors soliciting people in bathrooms- these are our moral leaders?

Cheating is cheating....is corking a bat less offensive than juicing or using pine tar on a ball? NO.

Cheating has been a part of the game for 100 + years.

If there are 'legit' players out there, just like all the other 'unwritten' baseball rules, let them throw at the dirty players heads. Let them police themselves.

Oh and 1 more thing I forgot to add to my rant -
Sports is ENTERTAINMENT-

Why is it ok for Stallone to HGH for a 40th rambo movie?
But a kid from a 3rd world counrty who needs to hit home runs to get out of horrible poverty it is taboo for?

It makes no sense

April 10, 2008  02:51 PM ET

I disagree that sports is entertainment.
Sprt is entertaining, and everyone packages it as entertainment, players are paid like entertainers, but sport in and of itself is sport, not, entertainment.
Wrestling is entertainment and not sport, sorry to all of you wrestling fans out there.
I hate to break it to you but cheating ruins sport, sport is only meaningful when it is in its purest forms.

so are we going to get the names of the agents who referred their clients to DocSteroid? how does a doctor 'illegally' write presciptions? isn't he the only one with the legal authority to write any drug prescription?

I would assume that writing an illegal prescription would mean that he wrote a prescription for steriods so that the player could get jacked and not because he had a medical condition that warranted them.

" I hate to break it to you but cheating ruins sport, sport is only meaningful when it is in its purest forms "

Seriously- what are you like 12?
They are PAID professional entertainers who play a game for a living.

Sports are a FORM of entertainment- wrestling is another form as is music, acting, reading, laying cards, etc

- where today does sports exist in it's ''pure form'?
little league? Where no one fails- everyone is a winner......give me a break
