06:38 AM ET 04.10 | For the third time in a week, Pat Riley has hinted that the final games of the Heat's dismal season just might be his last as a coach. Riley, elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday, said Wednesday that the induction ''might be something that puts a capper'' on his coaching career after 25 seasons.

hope you know who you to draft with our top pick in the draft and then please leave the team alone. you stole the ring from SVG and now he is kicking your ass for it with a young viberant team down the road

Maybe not now but stealing something from deserving people will really haunt Riley very very soon come draft day by having the last pick of the lottery teams.

I don't think they will land it (tankers never deserve it). They need to prepare for the 3rd/4th pick. I think if they had the 3rd or 4th pick, he would opt for Lopez, Baryless, and this is a stretch MAYBE Randolph. Don't worry, my Wolves will get Rose.

Why is he "only" hinting? You have 5 rings, as a coach, 1 as a player (I believe) and you are in the HOF. Plus you had a really bad season and you need to just fade away. Become a a commentator.

i dont see it as tanking i see it as a wise move to have all players healthy Wade was 50/50 at best all season shaq should of been traded during the offseason. we are only Rose or Beasly from going back to the play-off with this line up if everyone is 90% of better.

Keep in mind, they gave Minnesota a protected first round draft pick (top 10 in 2008, top 6 in 2009, and unprotected after). Now as a Wolves fan, I want a good draft pick ASAP, but I know the Heat won't give us one so soon especially now that they are rebuilding. That would cripple them to have to wait till 2009 to draft in the first round again. In addition, the Wolves have their 2008 second round draft pick, so that will hurt pretty bad too so they need to tank next season as well. However, I fully expect the Wolves to tank just as hard next year.

Bye! What took you so long? Another over-rated coach.

As soon as the Heat show signs of improvement, he'll be back, stabbing the coach he hired in the back like he has before.
Why any coach would go to work for this sleazeball is beyond me.

Perfect. Decimate the franchise, and then retire. I'll take Riley's leaving any way I can get it.

I bet if he gets the #1 pick he won't be thinking about retirement.

This man is such a weasel, the only reason he'd actually go through this retirement and abandon his quest to top Lenny and Don on the all-time wins list is in order to focus on being a bball executive - not for the good of the team - but because it would give him an opportunity to turn around the mess he created but sell it as if he's actually accomplishing a great feat - then he'd begin the self-campaigning to join Wooden and Wilkens as double-hall-of-famer. I don't think there's room enough in the Alamo dome to fit Riley, Magic, Bird, and Jordan's Egos.

PAYBACK'S A BlTCH! He had to steal Stan Van's championship and now, this Hall of Famer's last season is going to be his worst ever. How's that for ending your career.
I still find there's more glamour in going out on top as opposed to being ousted.

Riley is leaving? Well I guess he achieved all that he wanted to now that he's in the Hall of Fame.
