With Sacramento determined to dump Ron Artest, Miami, which has nothing to lose and Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade to keep him in line, is interested.

Do it, Riley. Send Antoine Walker to Sacramento for Artest straight up. Or maybe pull a three team deal with Houston, with Walker going to Sactown with former King Jason Williams, Artest along with Rafer Alston and Bob Sura's contract to South Beach, and Mike Bibby reuniting with Rick Adelman in Houston. The second one would be cool, but the first trade is far more likely.

Good idea! Artest needs to be surrounded by aging players. That should calm him down a bit...well...until he realizes that too many players use a walking cane on and off the court!

This move might be the one to revitalize the Heat. I don't think it's enough to beat Detroit though. It would make Miami interesting though.

May 27, 2007  12:00 PM ET

Artest for Walker is likely at all...they want to start over and walker has like 3 more years on his contract, that will not happen at all...

May 27, 2007  12:24 PM ET

Maybe this could be like Jordan and PIppen harnessing Rodman on the Bulls. It worked well having the three of them together. If it doesn't work with Artest on the Heat then get him out of the league. Stop giving him chances and free money to ruin teams.

if he can't keep his act together with shaq looking over his shoulder there is no hope for this guy. if artest doesn't get a veteran superstar around him to keep him in line i expect by the end of next season he will have bitten off someone's ear and tatooed his face. but it would be a good move for miami to tighten up their D, he will provide some offense, and get rid of the shot happy walker.

May 27, 2007  01:19 PM ET

Do It Heat!!!!! Artest wont say a word with shaq around! His defense is needed plus if they cant address the PG spot he should be able 2 help there!!!

May 27, 2007  01:55 PM ET

Walker is terrible, why would anyone with a brain trade artest for antoine walker. i would rather have diana taursi on my team then Walker

May 27, 2007  02:20 PM ET

I don't think it would be a bad trade for the Heat, but when you think about it any deal that gets rid of Walker has to be good.

May 27, 2007  02:36 PM ET

Those who don???t study Artest history are doomed to repeat it. On the road, on the bus, in the hotel, hours and hours with someone with a negative attitude has, can, and will grind an entire organization down. Pacer in shambles. Kings in shambles. Next?

May 27, 2007  02:59 PM ET

As a King's fan, I want to see something big happen, but a trade for Antoine would be stupid! Why would we want an aging player that has never really been a star? He's just a Co-Star in a 'B' movie at that!

May 27, 2007  03:23 PM ET

Seems like a good fit. I'm sure Shaq could somewhat control him. This is a serious upgrade if it happens.

May 27, 2007  03:52 PM ET

Get it done Riley...The Heat need a tough rugid defender who can also score, unlike Eddie Jones who could do neither. Getting rid of Walker would be GREAT!!

May 27, 2007  04:41 PM ET

Artest is far better than Walker. Walker is too erattic and likes to shoot the 3 too much. He doesn't play defense and hes old. Artest is very competitive, plays excellent defense, and can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He combined with a healthy Wade and Shaq should push them back into the deeper parts of the playoffs.

May 27, 2007  04:59 PM ET

would not be a good trade for the Kings

May 27, 2007  05:04 PM ET

In conclusion, WHO do the Heat have to offer because Nobody wants Antoine Walker

May 27, 2007  05:12 PM ET

Walker has done everything he has been told to do in Miami. There is no consistency because he is never given the same job to do. He is the only player on the team not to have a role defined. They make him change his role but the minute.

The Heat have a title with Walker and one he was a part of so stop the bashing for a guy that actually does what it takes to win. Walker was the only one that showed up in the playoffs and the only one that gave an effort 24-7.

May 27, 2007  05:14 PM ET

I am curious what have the Kings ever done for a king fan to look down on anyone? Walker was the true leader in Boston and everyone knows it . The fanatical fans only care about glory. Walker wants to win.

May 27, 2007  06:58 PM ET

Man, Artest playing for the Heat. I wonder if the fans forgot that he gave the "we're # 1" sign 3 years ago.

May 27, 2007  07:26 PM ET

man it would be nasty for the east if "Ron-Ron" ended up in south beach. The heats would be a favorite, he is still the best defender in the league along with Bruce Bowen. Sac shouldn't do a deal unless Miami sweet ups the deal. I wouldn't accept Walker for artest, just doesn't gives u anything back.
