Pacman to apply for reinstatement

Pacman Jones will apply for reinstatement to the NFL on Tuesday, according to his lawyer, Manny Arora. Jones' first request for reinstatement, last year, was denied after a face-to-face meeting in New York with commissioner Roger Goodell. The NFL Players Association appealed the decision, but Jones remained suspended for the year. Goodell, who will be in Dallas next week, has said he would make a decision on Jones' future by the time training camp begins in July. Arora is hoping Goodell would act sooner, which could heat up trade talks between Tennessee and Cowboys.

Another day another non-story about Adam Jones. I'm surprised!

April 12, 2008  08:55 AM ET

can't we get some stories about Vick and his boyfriends in jail? at least get a new pic of this thug.

April 12, 2008  09:16 AM ET

You mean after all this negotiating contracts, and trade scenarios, he hasn't applied for re-instatement yet?

April 12, 2008  09:28 AM ET

Seems Pacman is doing things backwards. Start the hype, talk it up big, get another team to say they want you, get your team ready to trade you......THEN apply for reinstatement. With a plan like that, how could Goodell say no. <insert sarcasm wherever you see fit.>

Jones is nothing more than a street corner punk/thug. He is far from the only one in the NFL but he doesn't deserve to play in the NFL. The league really needs to clean up it's image.

He's gonna take Goodell out to a strip joint to discuss it over club sandwiches.

April 12, 2008  12:02 PM ET

Will Vegas take odds on this one? and how long before he gets suspended

Lady P,
nice post and appreciate the editorial freedom to place the sarcasm where I see fit. Played with it a bit (so to speak) and found endless entertainment for a sat morn in april. THanks

April 12, 2008  04:39 PM ET

Doesn't make sense in the current enviroment to let him back. Goodell will not let him back so soon. Unless he has the missing tapes.

Arora bora burrallis is a wonderfull thing. Look up and to the NW.......

I look at the goodell in everything. I think the heat is in Texas not for anything NFL related.

Pacman ate all my little bullets.

April 12, 2008  05:56 PM ET

JUST SAY NO!

April 12, 2008  06:42 PM ET

Oh what a great day it will be when Roger Godell says - NO NO NO !!!

My guess is Roger Goodell says no - and then T&R won't have anything to report on every day, except stories like "Pacman eats cheeseburger WITHOUT fries today" or "Jerry Jones seen shopping for apples at local market - connection to draft trade possibilities?"

April 12, 2008  10:22 PM ET

Hope Roger will not be an ass and let the man play, wow he is going to look good in that silver and blue!

As punishment, tell him that if he comes back he has to play for Detroit!

Then see how eager he is to come back!
