Packer: This is Aaron Rodgers' team

Posted: Saturday April 12, 2008 08:30AM ET

If Brett Favre is keeping hope alive of a retirement comeback, at least one former teammate said the Packers weren't holding their collective breath. "I'm sure he loves playing, (but) he's made his decision and we as a football team are ready to move forward," right tackle Mark Tauscher said Thursday night at the Lee Remmel Sports Awards Banquet. "We're not going to worry about all those speculations. We respect Brett. He was a great teammate. But this is Aaron Rodgers' team right now." Twice in recent interviews, Favre left the door open for a possible return to the Packers. The latest was in an interview published Tuesday by the Gulfport (Miss.) Sun-Herald in which Favre said he would be tempted to return if Rodgers suffered an injury.

I actually would like to see if you can spell his last name correctly... just to see if you can.

Report Offensive Comment

Farve??? or Favre????? It doesn't matter, it's a goofy name....probably French.

Report Offensive Comment

Well I mean if you are going to be a dumb **** and wish an injury on somebody at least spell their name correctly! That's all I'm saying.

Report Offensive Comment

Do you really think I want to see him hurt? Or is it possible I'm just having fun with my cheesehead rivals?

Packer fans are OBNOXIOUS, but they are very loyal. I'm just having fun with you guys.....that's all.

Now, pretty boy Tom Brady, that's a different story. Bring out the stretcher!!!!!

And bring one out for Moss, also!

Karma's going to get you, Broadhead, when you least expect it. Don't come crying to me when it does.

Karma already has......I'm a long suffering Lions fan.

Although bringing favre back in the event of an emergency like injury to rodgers or just bad play from him might be tempting for the pack I think it would take extraordinary circomstances for it to ever happen.
Like maybe, their on the verg of making the playoffs and they have zero confidance in whomevers behind rodgers.
If Rodgers goes down at the begining of the season i'm not sure they run right to Brett for a lot of reasons.

Oh dear........medical science has yet to come up with a cure for this.

lady Peasalot,

I don't think science ever will. Is there a sorrier franchise in all of sports?

Maybe now you will understand why I really hate those drunk and obnoxious cheeseheads.

Report Offensive Comment

Rodgers will do just fine. He's from California

Pressure, Aaron, PRESSURE!!!

Rodgers will break his foot.......again.

I guess what you're saying then, Broadhead, is that it's like a chemical reaction between you and the Packers fan base. It's not really personal, it's chemical.

Report Offensive Comment

Aaron Rodgers is gonna take use-guys to da playoffs next year.

Where he will do well enough for you to think you have the answer for three years. Then the guy the Pack draft after the 2010 season will take over. That guy will be a freshman in college this fall.

I agree...and as a Packers fan, I hope he doesn't come back. He's retired, hope he stays so.

What I don't get is how ignorant some people on FN are. Maybe they're just young & immature or something, and I realize that I may be looking through rose-colored glasses, but if you think the NFL is better w/o Favre, you're wrong. One of the most popular and likeable players that played the game.

Popular and likable? Yes. A great QB, sometimes.
